Isn't it great!!!!!!!? Love it!

Hey BettyAnn! Welcome home!!

How hard was it to get a seat at Fantasmic? How long before hand did you need to go and wait in line? Does it really matter if you are sitting in the front row...is the view just as good at the back?

Six more days!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Thanks!! We went on a night where there was one at 7:30 and one at 9:00.. we went to the later one.. I had read when there are 2 to go to the later one so thats what we did.. Walked right in about 15 minutes before the show.. No lines.. There were tons of empty seats.. We sat in the middle towards the back but there didnt seem to be a bad seat in the place.. It was so cool..

I think getting there any more than half an hour prior to the show starting is a little bit silly. All the seats have a pretty much equal view (IMO) and I think it's actually better to be on a side than in the center because the waterscreens are angled towards the sides. It seems like the center seats that everyone rushes to are actually the worst.

We got there to the special dinner section an hour before the 7:30 show and we sat there freezing (it was cold) and bored until 7:15 when everyone else walked in with no issues.

OK. Let's see. Where to begin?
This was YOUR experience at the theater.

We have been to Fantasmic! dozens of times (that's dozens with an "s").

1. There are many performances that are completely FILLED by, say, 20 minutes before showtime (even the SRO sections).
They must turn latecomers away at the entrance. No show for them.

2. All the seats do not have an "equal view" but the show CAN be enjoyed from many angles and from relatievely far back in the theater.
There are some parts of the theater with much poorer views.
Standing Room Only is not a great way to see the show, but many have been in that position.

3. The "water screens" are angled to the sides.
BUT those are only the SIDE "water screens". There is a dead-center, front-facing water screen for those who are seated in the center section.

I know you weren't trying to mislead, but taking a single experience (or a couple of them) and making a broad speculation about what "always" happens at OTHER times is not a very good way to accurately assess most WDW events.

I feel like the original poster. I've been to WDW over 30 times (since it opened) and I never saw the show until last year.

I always thought it was no big deal....boy was I wrong!

As Robo said there are 3 water screens.. one to each side and one in the middle.. we sat in the middle and there was a screen right in front of us..

OK, calm down here - I didn't mean to upset anyone....I never claimed that this is advice everyone should adhere to or that it applies to every situation. I'm terribly sorry if I've upset you with my banal observations that are clearly not up to what you've gathered with your ample experience.

When I was there on last Friday night, either only two waterscreens were operating or I couldn't see all three, because I kept thinking to myself how awful it would be to sit in the center, as the (two) screens that were operating were angled towards the sides. I could see a large, probably 20 foot empty space right in front of the center section with just a nice view of the set and nothing else. Maybe I'm blind, but it appeared quite absurd (which is why I took note of it).

I was there on a very busy weekend in spring break season and could have strolled in 10 minutes prior to get a seat. During other seasons, maybe not. I shared my experience, take it or leave it. No reason to get upset.

Getting a seat depends on when you go. Most of the time, getting a seat 30-45 minutes before showtime is enough. During the busier times, 45-60 minutes may be necessary. No real differenece between front or back rows but you can get wet. The only bad seat at Fantasmic is on the extreme ends where the princess seaons will not "line up" and you'll hear the wrong music when you see one particular princess.
