I think getting there any more than half an hour prior to the show starting is a little bit silly. All the seats have a pretty much equal view (IMO) and I think it's actually better to be on a side than in the center because the waterscreens are angled towards the sides. It seems like the center seats that everyone rushes to are actually the worst.
OK. Let's see. Where to begin?
This was YOUR experience at the theater.
We have been to Fantasmic! dozens of times (that's dozens with an "s").
1. There are many performances that are completely FILLED by, say, 20 minutes before showtime (even the SRO sections).
They must turn latecomers away at the entrance. No show for them.
2. All the seats do not have an "equal view" but the show CAN be enjoyed from many angles and from relatievely far back in the theater.
There are some parts of the theater with much poorer views.
Standing Room Only is not a great way to see the show, but many have been in that position.
3. The "water screens" are angled to the sides.
BUT those are only the SIDE "water screens". There is a dead-center, front-facing water screen for those who are seated in the center section.
I know you weren't trying to mislead, but taking a single experience (or a couple of them) and making a broad speculation about what "always" happens at OTHER times is not a very good way to accurately assess most WDW events.
