Fantasmic vs WOC for 2yos

We are taking our twins to DL in Oct and are stuck on whether to plan to see Fantasmic or WOC. They will be 2 1/2 at the time. I vaguely remember seeing what I think was Fantasmic years ago in dw and the descriptions of dl's show sound incredible. WOC looks pretty amazing too though. I'm not sure though that either, especially Fantasmic, is going to be worth the effort with 2 ancy two year olds. I've looked at the Fantasmic dining packages but it's very confusing and I'm not sure which, if any would give us the best chance of a reasonably short wait and decent viewing spot. Any thoughts on this would be welcome. We habe a bit before making reservations but it looks like Fantasmic will be weekends only so if we want that, it'll affect our planned dates.

Fantasmic! does tend to be a bit scarier for small children. It depends on the child. But if you are in a sitting section F! does lend itself much better to a good view by a small child. For WOC everyone stands, and someone would need to hold the child the whole time - 26 minutes.

Not knowing anything about the child I would say WOC is a safer choice because ost kids find it to not be as scary.

I have not been to DL since they started F! FP. I understand all the seating area is for reserved dining folks.

For WOC a dining package is completely unnecessary to see the show. Just get regular FPs.

From what I understand, only Blue Bayou (and possibly River Belle Terrace) will get you a place to sit, the rest of the FP are going to be standing only. And you will still have to wait after getting a spot on the ground to sit.

If it were me, I would skip both shows until they are older. (Not to mention, even with a nap in the day, my niece would not be able to stay awake.)

Thanks to you both. This rules out Fantasmic for sure. There's just too much to deal with for a short show. WOC we can decide while we're there so I won't worry about that right now.

A little late to the discussion, but I'll add my two cents anyway!

In terms of F!, only the Blue Bayou Dining Package guarantees their guests ground seating for F!. Most reports indicate that the RBT viewing area and dessert party viewing areas also have ground sitting, though it's not guaranteed. In terms of the daily FPs, there have been some reports that guests near the RoA are allowed to be seated, but those spots go fast. Overall, the only way to know for sure that you'll be in an area that is exclusively ground sitting is to spring for the Blue Bayou dining package.

As mentioned by HydroGuy, WoC is standing room only. It does not work well for shorter adults or small children. You would have to hold your child the entire time so they could see. They will not allow you to put your children on trash cans, railings, or any other structures that might be nearby.

Both shows are similar in length; WoC is 26 minutes, while F! is 22 minutes. Even with the FP system, it still sounds like you have to commit a fair amount of time to get a good view if you don't spring for a package (hour or more). In terms of scariness, it depends on the child and how easily frightened they are. Personally, I think F! is more likely to scare folks because of the dragon (which is pretty impressive, breathes fire, and is loud). WoC is less intense that way because it's all mist screen projections which are a little fuzzy to look at and there nothing physically "real" to see.

In all honesty, if you don't want to devote an hour or so of time and you don't know how the kids will do, I'd probably skip both shows. I don't think WoC is worth holding up a child for 26 minutes, or trying to keep them in the same spot for the hour that you have to wait to have a decent/okay viewing spot. I like F! better, but if you don't know if your kids will like it, I'd probably not spend the money on the dining package.

If you have a toddler carrier (we have Kinderpacks) WoC is really awesome. We stood the whole time but no hurting arms or backs and the kids could see well.
