If Fantasmic is at 8:30, what time do you think I'll be tucked in at Riverside? I will have a car so buses are not a factor. I was thinking 10:30? Hoping I'm overshooting...

F! runs 30 minutes.
You can figure 50-75 minutes following the show to exit and get back home.

I don't think 10:30 is a problem at all, you can likely do better than that. I'd probably walk to my car rather than wait for a tram which might shave off a few minutes.

Since you're taking a car, not the buses, you'll likely be back to your room before 10 p.m. I would walk, not take the tram. The parking lot isn't that large. Now if you were taking a bus, I'd figure on midnight. :crazy2:

I've taken Disney busses after F! for years and never encountered anything of the sort.

A joke's a joke, but let's not mislead Disers.

The last time I used the buses I stayed at POR. After Fantasmic, it took seven buses coming for me to get back to the resort. I stood in line with a two year old for over an hour. While it wasn't midnight, it wasn't exactly ideal.

In defense of the bus system, DHS is the only park where I have encountered this problem. It seems when the parks tend to leave at around the same time (common in September), DHS gets the least amount of buses sent.

If you have a car, it is much faster. We were back in our room at CSR last year 20 minutes after the Star Wars fireworks ended. I remember DH calling his friend on the way out--they had been there the week before and had a horrible bus issues (bad luck/bad timing I think) and it had taken them a very long time to leave DHS, and he had warned us before we left home.

Easily by 10:30. We drive so we get to avoid the buses and when we leave HS with the crowd we always walk to our car as we get there much quicker than waiting multiple trams to get on. Leave Fantasmic at 9, hit the parking lot by 9:10/9:15. Then just however long it takes to drive to your hotel. So really you could be looking at 9:30-10pm being back in your room

You didn't mention when you are going. There is currently road construction between DHS and POR that impacts the driving time, both bus and car. I was there earlier this week and it doesn't appear to be going away soon. I did hear of almost closures at night around the time of park closing.

Not until November.
