Fantasmic Thread!

I know the view might not be the best but, with our special needs daughter, having an actual seat and not having to queue up waiting or sitting on the ground or in her wheelchair just seems like a better option, especially since I have a bad knee and sitting so low on the ground is not great for it.
The dining area outside of Harbour Galley is for people with special needs. I'm not sure what is necessary to sit there.

Would they let you use one of these in the fantasmic sit on the ground sections?

We were told that you must have a dining package ticket/voucher to be seated there. Ask the CMs in the dining package check in area about any special needs. They can show you to that seating area. The view is off to the side, but there are tables and chairs.

That's odd, because if you have a dining package, you should be in the area reserved for dining packages. I've seen reports that people in wheelchairs/ECVs are in the last row of those areas. I'm hoping this is actually the case, since one of our group will be in an ECV and paying $89 for a BB dining package and getting a not great seat over in that area is definitely NOT what I had in mind!

The Harbor Galley seating area is for guests who request it. No one is forced to sit there. The family next to us in line had one adult who could not sit on the ground. She was given the option to stand in the back of the area, but said she could not stand for that long. Since she didn't have a mobility device, the CM led them to the Harbor Galley dining area. All 4 people in her group were seated at a table.

That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification!

So it sounds like if you have special needs, wheelchair, etc. but don't have a dining package, you're on your own!

This is why one of my pieces for advice for people picking trip dates is to include the weekend. I think it's ridiculous of Disney.. but at Disneyland during the school year - weekdays always offer less.

Didn’t have a choice unfortunately. Tied into expo dates.

Were there any on the 12th? Disney may be moving to the weekend entertainment schedule starting that day as a lot of schools go back that week.

I don’t think so. I can’t remember if the 10th or 11th was the last day with packages. Oh well. We will return. That’s the good thing about owning DVC at VDH. We have a very compelling reason to go back.

Oooooo... Thank you for that tip! If we don't get the River Belle Premium package, I'll definitely ask about that area.

So it sounds like the accessibility viewing for F! is over on the left (facing ROA) if you have a dining package, and over on the right (by Mark Twain) if you don't? Wondering if the view makes it worthwhile to pay for a dining package, or if the view from the Mark Twain area is just as good? The photo looks like it's fairly small, but maybe that's just the angle.

You’re seeing a side angle of the stuff on stage but I didn’t think it was bad!

It's relatively the same side angle. Harbor gallery gets an elevated view. If you don't have an excuse or Wc you'd unlikely get into mark Twain side cause it is relatively small.

The action is right in front though so when mark Twain comes through, you are right on top of it and it's awesome. Murphy was great too but now all you get is side view of the stage. The water view projections are also a bit off too, but manageable.

Is it possible to make it from Fantasmic dining "seating" for the first show to the WoC second dessert party, if you just want a seat to see WoC, and don't care about time to linger over the "dessert plate" (that LOOKS like it is assembled from my grocery store bakery case -- maybe it's better?)

How familiar are you with the layout of the parks and potential short cuts to maneuver around people who are gathered to watch fireworks?

I am familiar with the disneyland of my 1960s and 70s childhood. I know WDW like the back of my hand and I am VERY adept at shortcuts there.i will be solo, so no one to drag along, and I would have one afternoon and evening after arriving the day before to map it all out. But I have never been to DCA. In MY disneyland, the one with the coupon.book without enough E tickets, DCA is a parking lot.
