Fantasmic Show/Dinner Package

If you like eating at Hollywood & Vine (or Mama Melrose's or Brown Derby), don't mind eating dinner early, hate waiting in line and don't mind sitting off to the side, then it is a great deal. If you don't like Hollywood & Vine (or Mama Melrose's or Brown Derby), like to eat dinner at a normal time, don't mind waiting in line an hour plus and want to sit in the middle, then it is a horrible deal.

Since the first example matches me perfectly, it's a great deal for me.

We've done the package every year since it began and wouldn't think of doing Fantasmic any other way. The seating is in a section on the right, but you get the same view as center, as the action takes place in front of each. The view is perfect, in my opinion. You don't wait in line at all.

You don't necessarily have to eat early. Every year we've eaten at 6:00. As your date nears, you should be able to get a later seating. We always eat at the Brown Derby anyways, so the Fantasmic package is an added bonus!:D

We did it once, it worked well.

We did it without on the last trip and..... that worked well too!

We were there the end of Feb. We got rained out one night so we went back the next. We did Epcot for most of the day had a big lunch at Le Cellier then returned to our resort for a late afternoon swim. We went into MGM in time for the last Beauty and Beast show. After, we bought fruit from Annehiem Produce and went into Fantasmic (it was 70 min. prior to showtime when we started walking in). We got great seats (near top of Scar section), DH and DD got in line for hot dogs, big pretzels and water bottles. We ate that with our fruit while we waited. Nice people around us. Kids had brought their gameboys to keep them busy. Around 20 min. prior to show we hit the bathrooms.

Honestly the wait was not bad at all and we were not thrilled with H&V before nor were the reserved seats that great. I would not use it (the pkg) again but if you go during Easter or a really busy week it might be wise.

Just my .02 :D

How? Can you simply call up the Disney Dine number and ask for a later reservation? And, how close to the actual date should you wait or is best?

I've got 4:30 pm reservations and couldn't get any later when I booked 90-days out.

Thanks

And since they've changed it to a fixed price menu, it is actually cheaper than if you ordered the same food a la carte.
That is, if you order the most expensive choices :teeth: .

I don't know how our later times have been reserved - concierge itinerary planners always do it for us. I'd assume that you could just call after the park hours are out and later times open up. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

At the 90 PS time frame the latest FDP was 4pm so I booked it.

I was able to move my time 5pm about 7 days after the park hours came out. I tried calling the day after and the CM told me it takes at least 4 - 5 days to update the PS times (I also
was able to move a PS in the MK the same day). With a
7:30 fantasmic I didn't want a seating later than 5 (I think you could have had as late as 5:30).

We like the package (the seats are to the right but still have a great view). We were there during Spring Break so the show
was filled to capacity (some people had stood in line for over
an hour and a half). We would have eaten at the Brown Derby anyway. We walked right in and had good seats after a wonderful dinner. :D
