We will be at Disney the second week of May. I would really like to see Fantasmic, but we'll have to see if our kids can hold up that late. How long before the show can you go into the seating area? Can you in bring counter service food from the park to eat while you wait? Does anyone have any special tips they can offer up?

Thanks in advance for your insight!

They generally start seating aout 1/2 hour prior, though some people line up before then. You can bring in counter service or use the counter service that is within the amphitheater. allearsnet.com has their menu (Hollywood Hills). I suggest sitting about half-way up, as close to center as possible. A good idea for the kiddos is to bring those neon glow necklaces to play with. It can get dark (and sometimes scary for very little ones) during the show so they sell these. You're better off bringing your own than paying whatever it is that disney charges.

When we were there last week, people were lining up a long time before showtime. There was a large crowd already 2 hours before the show. We avoided those crowds by doing the Fantasmic Dinner plan. We had a sit-down dinner at Hollywood & Vine - there are 3 restaurants you can choose from. With that you get reserved seats for fantasmic. You just have to be there at least 30 minutes before showtime. When we got there, 30 minutes before the show, the place was already very full, except they still had quite a few reserved seats left. By showtime it was a packed house.

The dinner package is the only way I will do Fantasmic with our 3 kids. We would much rather wander the parks for those 2 hours before the show instead of trying to keep our kids entertained in the theater. I would highly recommend that you look into the dinner package.

Have a great time. The show is absolutely Fantasmic!!!! :rotfl:

We sat down to wait for Fantasmic! 1 and half hr before show last week. There was no waiting in a line. You can bring in any food you want. My DH got us food and we spent the time eating and talking. We also took gameboys and coloring books for the kids. They did great(DS9,DS7,DD6,DD1).We had great seats.Seats on the far sides did not fill up until about 20 min before. :flower:

It sounds like a fun show. Does anyone know what time/s this show normally starts in October?

The seating area opens up 1.5-2 hours before showtime.

Yes, you can bring any food you like with you.

We went to see the show last Friday and it opens 2 hours before. Don't sit in the first 15 rows of seats unless you want to get wet, also take coats for the kids cause it gets cool later on! :cold:

Waiting for 11/2-2 hours for the show is a bit of a pain but WELL worth it, the show is brilliant

There is a food court type set up not too far from the Fantasmic area and we ate there and then went in about 2 hours before the show. The counter service inside has just a few things mostly snacks and hot dogs I think.

We saw the show last June. We went about an hour before the show started. We got snacks to keep DD occupied while we waited. I was glad we got there early because it was standing room only at showtime. It was worth the wait. DD loved the show and we will see again in May.
