What would be the best & quickest way to see Fantasmic with a 1 and 4-year old? I've heard of the Dinner Seating, but can't find info online about this. If the shows are at 9 and 10:30pm the kids will be tired & not want to wait in line. Any suggestions for me?

If you're going at a busy time of the year, I would definitely do the Fantasmic Dinner Deal. You can make reservations at any Guest Relations desk on-site at Disney up to 7 days in advance. The deal is if you eat at one of the more expensive MGM restaurants (Hollywood & Vine, Mama Rosa's, or Brown Derby if I remember the names right), they'll give you a ticket which entitles you to reserved seating at Fantasmic. They tell you where to go with your ticket and to be there 30 min. before show time. They have a couple sections on the right side blocked off for people with the dinner deal tickets.

We were there in June with 3 kids (8, 4, 21 months), 3 grandparents, my sister and my dh. We ate at Hollywood & Vine around 5 p.m. mostly because it's a buffet and I thought the kids might not sit through a nicer dinner. To be honest, I was less than thrilled when we got into Hollywood & Vine....it was mostly just a big room and the buffet didn't appear to be too nicely displayed. However, the food was actually pretty good. Still though, I think I might try Mama Rosa's next time.

We didn't have to wait in any lines.....we went to where we were told to be at the set time and just followed the group (down a long path). (Definitely bring a stroller....it's a long walk both in and out....you can leave your stroller just outside the stadium.) When we got into the Fantasmic stadium (9 p.m. show), all of the sections except for the ones where they were seating those with the dinner deal appeared to be packed wall to wall. I was thrilled that we had the dinner deal then. The kids were entertained by the crowd doing the wave, by the light toys, and by some toys and snacks I had brought along. The wait didn't seem too bad at all.

Note, I was originally worried about whether we'd be able to get Fantasmic Dinner Deal reservations because we wanted to go the day after we arrived (so I was only booking one day in advance.) It didn't seem to be a problem at all though although we did eat early and we also booked the least popular of the restaurants.

Have a great time!

WE did Fantasmic last May with a 4yo. In the morning when we arrived to MGM we walked to guest relations and he gave us res. around 4:30pm @ Brown Derby ( we loved it), you have the choice of brown Derby, Mama's or Hollywood & Vine. Every adult in your party is required to buy an entree.Your waiter will then stamp a card for you, 1/2 hr. before the show there's a special door(do not get in line with the rest) your waiter will let you know exactly where to go. We sat second row, and this place was PACKED. But the show is great, my son still talks about it.

We would want to do the package too....

Which one would u suggest for kids 6 and 2 1/2 in our big party of 8

Thanks!!!

We just got back from WDW, but didn't go to Fantasmic this trip. (It rained every evening but one). The Studio guidemap lists Brown Derby, Mama Melrose's and Hollywood & Vine as the places to eat in order to get the Fantasmic special. The map says you can visit any of those restaurants or the Guest Information Board at Hollywood Junction at the studio to make PS for "Fantasmic Dining Experience". I don't know if you can make PSs at Guest Services for this since that is not listed on the map. It doesn't say anything about making reservations ahead of the day you plan to do it.

We just returned from Disney World on the 15th of July. We went to Fantasmic. We went to the 9:00 p.m. show. We didn't do the dinner thing we just went in at 8:00 and had great seats. We had been at the park all day and the kids were tired anyway so they didn't mind sitting. We spent the time conversing with those around us and it hardly seemed like an hour. It was a great show. As a side note: that was the longest we waited on anything. With the great fast pass we were able to spend no more than 15 minutes from beginning to end getting on rides.

we are going to mgm in dec 2001. and am thinking of booking h & v as it's a buffet and we have children aged 8 & 6 & 6,(who are pickey eaters) i'm just wondering does any one know the price of the fantasmic dinner package. adult / children price.

When do they start letting the regular guests in to be seated?

Did you have to stand in line for and hour and THEN be seated or do you mean you went in and sat for an hour before it started? Sitting for an hour I can handle but standing for that long would be hard.
