We have this booked for our trip next week. Can anyone tell us how this works and how early we really need to show and so on and so forth? Thank you so much! We don't want to screw this up!

There is a reserved section for Fantasmic Package Guests. You need to be in line 1.5 to 2 hours before the show begins to ensure you get your seat. you line up with everyone else (no special enterance like there used to be). They start filling the reserved section with non-reserved guests about 30 minutes before showtime so you are not guaranteed a seat like you used to be.

Not sure of that time line. I've consistently seen a recommended time of 1 hr prior to show. The special entrance is, sadly, gone but they say non-package people need to start lining up 2 hrs before so having the package cuts that wait time in half. Yes, they do apparently open the reserved section about 30 min prior to show so if you're there 1 hr early, you should be fine.

This is our plan for 9/29 (my b-day!) and I'm sticking to it!!!

That's what they recommend but Fantasmic nights have shown much larger crowds and the stadium closed to capacity 45 minutes to 1 hour before the show. There have been many posts here stating that people could not get in even with Fantasmic Packages purchased 1 hour before show time especially if it's the only show of the night

I don't think there is any need to be there 2 hours beforehand if you have the package. Form the reports coming in now they have fixed the earlier problems with seating FP guests and you can get into the reserved section up untill 30 min prior to the show except on the most crowded of nights. The probelms occured very early in the process of switching to the new schedule. The standard CM bit given when yuo book the package says to be there 50 min to an hour before the show to ensure that they have a seat.

Fantasmic Dining Package ends experiments; the solution is at hand

There has been much confusion and discussion for some time as Disney's Hollywood Studios has experimented with various changes to the process for those utilizing the Fantasmic Dining Package to enter the Hollywood Hills Amphitheatre. Since package cardholders were no longer admitted through the backstage gate next to Oscar's Super Service, confusion has been constant, with guests being told to arrive anywhere from 30-45 minutes before show time to 60-90 minutes before show time. Those arriving 60-90 minutes early would find that they could get better seating simply by staying with the masses and bypassing the reserved seating area for the package. Others would arrive to find that the reserved seating area was full and that they could only get admission for standing room only, or not at all. Communication in the entrance area was poor and inconsistent, and package holders would have to enter with the general admission guests and hope that they got up to the roped-off entrance to the reserved seating area.

Thankfully, the days of experimentation are at an end, and a solution is at hand.

Within the next couple of weeks, Fantasmic Dining Package guests will be asked to arrive at least 30 minutes before show time. While they will still enter through the main queue pathway, there will be a separate line to the right of general admission that will allow them easier access up to the reserved seating area regardless of how crowded the main queue is. The reserved seating area will not be opened up for overflow seating of general admission guests until there is 30 minutes or less until show time. With the separate queue to the reserved section, this will prevent cardholders from being blocked from arriving until their seats have been given away, as long as they arrive by 30 minutes before show time. Please remember, though, to allow at least five minutes to walk the lengthy queue, more for those who walk slowly.

that a separate line for Pkg holders would be a no brainer. Hope this is up and running when we get there. Not only is there only 1 show that night, there are only 2 shows all week.

Wow! Thanks for the help! This certainly doesn't sound as convenient as it once was does it? That's too bad. Hopefully I won't have to stand in line with the masses and the separate line is open! My kids LOVE this show and I would hate to miss it!
