We've always eaten @ H&V for Fantasmic Pkg but, since most of our meals are buffet (and I've got a hankering for Osso Bucco LOL), thought we'd try Mama Melrose in Oct.

Was able to get a 4:00p.m. slot but, confused as to "special" child's menu. CM said there are different offerings than the "regular" menu but, he didn't know what there were.:confused3 how, green is he LOL.

Looked on allears, they list 1 menu referencing both adults & children.

Can anyone tell me what there kids were able to eat there using the pkg.?

We did the package in July.

Basically the entire party gets a salad served family style as the starter, and then depending on how many people are at the table, you get a certain number of flatbread pizzas as the appetizer. I believe that generally if you have 4 or less, you get 1 pizza flatbread, 5-8 you'll get 2, and so on. The appetizer is the only special element of the Fantasmic package; everything else is the same as the regular menu.

The kids had the choice of any entree on the regular kids' menu. Mine all had pasta, a fairly large bowl with choice of sauce or butter. The kids were given the option of any of the regular kids' entrees, and the adults were also given the option of any of the regular adult entrees. The regular kids menu at allears should give you the entree choices you're wondering about because the package and that regular menu are exactly the same for entrees.

There was a ton of food.

For dessert, the kids had ice cream (a choice of chocolate, vanilla or spumoni) while adults could have any dessert choice on the regular menu.

The food was good for all and we were all pleased with the restaurant and with the Fantasmic package. Atmosphere is very nice for kids as well.

thanks for posting, I was afraid they'd limit selections on the child's menu.

sounds like we can all share family style, can't wait.

we just ate there on thurs aug 10. the kids menu was chick. parm, pasta with tomato sauce, butter or alfredo like sauce, or pizza. my son is very picky and wouldnt eat the mac and cheese (b/c it was alfredo sauce) so he ended up eating our app which was the flat bread as his meal. my dh and I both had chicken parm which was excellent. We would def. eat there again.

thanks, hope you had a great trip:goodvibes .

another question re the chicken parm...was it a "real" piece of chicken breast or what some places try to pass off (chipped chopped large nugget thing)?

The last time I had the chicken it was real. I get this most times we eat here and it has always been good and has always been real chicken. We all know that could change but I hope not. Looking forward to going here again in Sept.

IT WAS REAL!!! it was so good too. bread crumbs actually fried in a pan it tasted like at least. there is no way it was dipped in frylator(spelling is way off but you know the things they make french fries and chicken fingers in) The place has a very family atmosphere.

Sounds pretty good but, I'm holding out for the osso bucco---anyone order it?

My kids both ordered pasta and it was a tiny tiny portion. They must have been running low on pasta because I got a tiny amount with my chicken parm too.

FWIW, it was a horrible meal--both food and service. We aren't picky and it's the only WDW place no one wants to go back to and my kids LOVE Italian food.

The salad had lots of salty tangy gorgonzola cheese as did the cheese flatbread so kids wouldn't eat either. The bread is heavily coated in sesame seeds so again no go for the kids. Both kids were still quite hungry after eating their pasta even my eats like a bird 6 year old daughter. The only kids dessert was plain ice cream and after all the cool kids desserts it wasn't very fun.

The chicken parm is baked not fried and is real chicken. I thought it was horrible though it tasted pre-cooked and warmed up. The coating was very thick and soggy and the chicken was totally dried out. It seemed like most of the FDP food we had was pre-made and it tasted like it. Most of the positive reviews I had read were from long ago or people not on the FDP package. The Osso Bucco is probably a great choice since it can take sitting around but the chicken parm no way.
