Does anyone know if it will be showing at all in april? My BF really wants to get some awesome shots with his fancy camera, but its not on the schedule so far, if its not showing does anyone know how easy it would be to set up a small tripod for the regular fireworks and how early you'd need to get a seat to do that?

The last scheduled day is March 28th. From what I'm hearing it will be down thru the end of May & back up this summer. Bummer, You're going to miss it!

it is a bummer, we decided hes gonna get shots of the fireworks instead we just thought Fantasmic would be easier to set up a small tripod crowds and all. :crowded:

Although you can certainly use a tripod for certain things during Fantasmic and I've done it myself, most of the show involves movement which basically means you'll need a shutter speed fast enough to stop the action. In other words, too slow of a shutter speed will cause you to have a lot of blurring of subjects in motion. I usually try to shoot it using as high an ISO as possible and a wide open aperture to allow for a faster shutter speed.

I will say though, that you can still get some good shots using a tripod during that show. It's just a difficult thing to balance based on what types of shots you want to get. I seem to never be satisfied with the shots I get during that show.

As far as where to set up, you'll have to be off to one of the sides since they make people sit down in most of the middle locations. I've set up right near the loading/unloading area for the Pirate's Lair boats.
