Sorry. I realize this has a very large thread but I really didn't want to read all of it. My question is will the lines for fantasmic be long the end of September? I hate to make the dinner package and than my MIL (70) and DD (5) decide that they don't want to go. Now that you need 48 hour cancelation I would be out alot of money. Thanks for your help

I think the lines to fantasmic are always long. However, you are going off season so if you go in the middle of the week your luck may be better. They are pretty good about letting people in approx 1-1 1/2 hours before showtime so your MIL could sit and relax. But...I have to say I liked the fantasmic package because it makes it a little more convenient and they don't charge you any more for dinner than if you were to go without the package. For example, we did the Hollywood Vine for dinner and it was the same price to have the package ($21.95) as it was to just walk in and go to dinner. I know that they have the dinner package people sit off to the side but, if you get there early enough they will let you in the center area, which is what we do. Just know though, the walk to get to the show area is quite a hull!! I hope this answers your question! A solution to your problem, since your MIL is older, maybe she would do better in a wheelchair then you wouldn't have any problems for waiting for anything!

I too am a big fan of the package. The first time we tried to see Fantasmic we were too late and could not get it (it was summer though.) The second time it was early December and we sat for 1 and a half hours to see the show, hard to do with kids. The last time we did the Brown Derby dinner and it was great having the reserved seats. Now we have scheduled the dinner package at Hollywood and Vine for our October trip. I would think your MIL would rather enjoy the meal and NOT have to sit on bleachers for over an hour waiting for the show. It should be less crowded when you go, but you are taking a chance. You have to eat anyway!

Thanks for the info. I think I'll keep the package. I've tried to get a later time at the 30 day mark and again today thay tell me only 4:30. Is there a chance as it gets closer that a later time will be available? they say they only seat from 4:30 to 5:30 I would rather have 5:30 should I keep trying or wait til I get there?
Thanks again

I just wanted to mention, that's an assumption people make, but it's not true. Most of the lines at WDW are wheelchair accessible, so in most cases people using wheelchairs wait in the same line for the same times as everyone else.
The 2 never parks (AK and the Studio) were built with Mainstream (accessible lines). Attraction queues at the other paks have been renovated to be Mainstream as much as possible.
