Fantasmic Package - How is it possible?

I mistakenly booked a dining reservation for Hollywood and Vine at 6pm thinking it would automatically be included in the "Fantasmic Dining Package", but just noticed that there is a seperate way to book that package. I am assuming all I have are regular dining reservations?

Anyhow, when I try to book through the "Dining Package" option, it only gives me availability at 3:50pm! Fantasmic doesn't start til 7 pm, so how is it possible to book a package at such an early time? Do they expect you to just sit there for 3 hours before the show?!

I think those packages are for lunch or EARLY dinner. When you are done eating you will get your seating pass for Fantasmic. You can then wander the park as you please until it is time to line up for seating. You wont need to line up as early as those who do not have the package.

package, you have your meal and at the end of the meal, you are given a voucher that will allow you into the special package line. Earlier this year, the meal times were between 1:30 and 5:00 PM. It appears they are trying to fill some unused time at the three restaurants. We had a meal at 4:45 with F! at 9:00 that night.

I would like to throw in one thing here. Hollywood and Vine is widely regarded as one of the worst places to east at Disney. I ate there not knowing this and I have to say the reviews are correct, it was bad. I did not think that it was that difficult to get into Fantasmic without the package. I guess it depends on the time of the year. I just hate to see people waste good money or a TS credit on a bad meal, when there are other great dining options out there.

Hope you have a great vacation.
