Is it Worth using the Dining plan for the Fantasmic Package at Brown Derby or would it be better just to pay for the Pantasmic package out of pocket?

I also Have Cinderella's Royal Table booked with th DDP. It is for My Birthday trip and my sisters very first trip. Not sure if I am making good choices.:confused3

Thanks!

Personally, I feel that the 2TS meals just aren't worth the Dining Plan credits. Let's just do the math:

Brown Derby
- Most expensive appetizer = $8.59
- Most expensive entree = $28.99
- Most expensive dessert = $8.39
- Soft drink ≈ $2.00
Sub-total = $47.97
Total with tax and tip = $59.48 per person max
or $29.74 per credit

Le Cellier
- Second most expensive appetizer = $10.99
- Second most expensive entree = $26.99
- Second most expensive dessert = $11.99
- Soft drink ≈ $2.00
Sub-total = $51.97
Total with tax and tip = $64.44 per person
or $64.44 per credit

Now, I'm the first one to say not to plan out your Dining Plan use based on trying to maximize the menu prices of the items you order, but heck, we're talking a more than two-to-one difference in price! And that's with the Brown Derby choices being the MOST expensive while the Le Cellier choices being only second most expensive. It's just too big of a gulf to bridge.

Thanks for your reply!
We have used the DDP before and we order what we have wanted not what cost the most. At times we didn't get the appitizer or dessert if we didn't feel we could eat it. We didn't try to get the most out of it. Our last trip we left with cs and ts credits still left and we still made out with the ddp. My 10 year old just couldn't eat all that was on the adult menu and we didn't want to order and then waste a lot of food. We didn't share meals there was just to much food for the six of us. It was easy for us though and my children under 10 didn't have a problem with the fruits and veggies on the kids menu. They ate them and asked for them by the end of the trip.

:thanks:

I may not be getting something, but it didn't cost us 2 TS credits. We were just there in January and ate at Hollywood and Vine for our Fantasmic package and it was only one credit and YES! it was very worth it. The food was really good!

HollyWood and Vine and Mama Melrose's is only 1TS credit for the package but Brown Derby is 2. I called and asked about that for our last trip and that is waht I was told then too.

Thanks!

Yes, you are right! Unless you are just heart set on Brown Derby though, the Hollywood and Vine was GREAT. I would do that instead of wasting a TS for Brown Derby. We had a breakfast at Cinderella's Castle too and that is why I didn't want to spend 2 TS for the Brown Derby.

We're going in February and have booked Brown Derby, but will pay OOP. That will leave us an extra TS credit for a character breakfast rather than leaving us one short some other evening at dinner. This seemed to be the best way to go if you want a TS each night. We're trying to eat around the world in Epcot, but will fall a few countries short. If you go casual and CS one night it might be worth using 2TS credits, but otherwise I think the Le Celier Math posted earlier makes a lot of sense. The math is much the same for most TS restaurants as well (thought maybe not as profound as Le Celier).
