Fantasmic or not?

Thanks to the advice found here (and on TourGuideMike.com, Mousesavers.com - new code just saved us $1,227), I've made all of our PS's, EXCEPT:

On my last two calls I was told that Fantasmic package seating was not being booked past the end of January 31st and to keep calling back. Tonight, I was told by CM that Fantasmic is being discontinued at the end of January??? Yet, the official web site lists it in the newly posted schedule for March? Did she perhaps mean they are not continuing the dinner/seat block booking, but the show is still on?

Could be just the current reservation system that's changing. It's only been the past 3-4 months where they have been "testing" the current system of paying in advance for the Fantasmic dinner package.

Under the previous system, the "package" could only be reserved 7 days in advance, and then only in person at your resort or guest services. I also do not believe that they required advance payment--you would just pick up the special Fantasmic passes the day of the show, and pay for your meal as ordered at the restaurant.

The system for booking Fantasmic Dinner Package was only a test....it expired on Dec 31 and now if you want to do the package, you must do it the old fashioned way of going in person no less than 7 days before the desired date. For more info, go to http://www.mgmstudios.org/food/fantasmic.html

The current 'Fantasmic' dinner package expires in 1/31/03. At least that's what they told me on 12/20/02 when I made our reservation for 1/1/03.
The CM at the Brown Derby podium on 1/1 told me that the only problem they had had was getting the PS computer to show that the Fantasmic package had been booked on the initial screen. She had to manipulate through several screens to find this info, but I'd been warned by the reservations CM that this might happen.
BTW, the CM at the theater told us that we weren't restricted to the dinner package area- she told us to sit 'anywhere we wanted to'.
Both dinner & Fantasmic were excellent!

Ajax is correct. This is a quote from an email I recieved from wdw on 12/18...

"The current way of during the Fantasmic! dinner package is going to be extended
until January 31,2003. Regretfully, the old way has been discontinued where you
could only book 7 days in advance."
