Fantasmic or Illuminations?

Just wanted to pop in and let you know that I am reading and taking in all the suggestions. I might even be more confused now (in a good way), but am happy that there are people that speak highly of both shows!

Thanks again for everyone's input. We are looking forward to our trip!

We will try and see both next month while we are there. I'm still hoping to see the hours for Hollywood Studios extended and second shows added in June like has happened for May. That might not help your situation since you find it hard to stay late. If I had to plan for just one, then it would have to be Illuminations because it is shown every night. A F! cancellation (not often, but it does happen) would have more of an impact on my plans due to it not being shown every night. In the past, I have let the others go back and swim/rest and I have stayed for Illuminations by myself. It's that amazing. I have had to skip F! in the past or we were there when it was not being shown and thought hey, we will try and catch it next time. Just plan another trip!!

im not a big illuminations fan have skipped it last several years:confused3, unless staying in BW area for quick getaway;)

imo fantasmic is amazing & really evokes all that is Disney for me! it's a must do every trip, i never get tired of seeing it and the park is easy to escape from afterwards.

We think Fantasmic is a lot of sound and fury, signifying nothing. We did it once with the dinner package (would not even consider doing it without reserved seating). We will not bother again.

They used to show Fantasimic twice per night. I note it is now once an evening and only three times per week. I can't imagine what the crowds and heat are like in that stadium.

We enjoy Illuminations much more.

We really enjoyed BOTH shows, however if I had to pick one it would be Illuminations for sure. The 13yo boy will be blown away by all the fire in Illuminations, it's a great show. As for staking out a place way in advance, well that is sort of true, but if you snack in the evening, and put supper off until late, you can grab CS for supper (I love the Yorkshire County Fish Shop), and then stake out a place (like the little island between UK and France) to watch the show, and eat there. By the time you are done eating, it should be getting pretty close to show time, so the wait should be quite tolerable that way.

Although we love both Illuminations and Fantasmic I would have to say Fantasmic its by far my familys fav..

In my opinion Illuminations is the best show followed closely by Wishes and Fanstasmic a distant third.
