Sorry, you are seeing the first or second Fantasmic show?

I'd like to see the first F! I don't see DD2 making it to the 2nd.

Yes, you will know it when you see it. There are two flows of foot traffic setup by the CMs after Fantasmic. One going towards Frontierland and one leaving. If you are on the wrong side you will be walking into oncoming foot traffic. Sort of like driving on the wrong side of the road in order to "save time".

Exactly. On the way into Frontierland, you'll notice that the benches and other landscaping features divide the walkway in half. After fireworks, the side closest to the castle becomes the "in" and the side closest to Adventureland becomes the "out." I have seen numerous CMs make people turn around and follow the flow of traffic out to the hub. Part of why they do this is to stop the people coming into the ROA area until they feel that the people watching F! have had ample time to clear out (there's always CMs standing just past the loading area for the Mark Twain and the Columbia with a rope to stop traffic). That way they mitigate the risk of people wanting to leave the F! viewing area being trampled by the herd (and it does feel like being stuck in a herd of cattle sometimes) coming from fireworks to watch F!.

If you're looking at watching RDCT, I would say that you really should watch it where you can see the castle because not only do you get to see the projections on the castle, but there are other surprises that can only be seen if you are able to see the front of the castle.

If you're looking at seeing Magical, I personally don't think that you need to see it in front of the castle. The projections are not that spectacular and the only thing special and unique about Magical is Dumbo. So unless you really want to see Dumbo fly (or if you've never seen Disney fireworks before...in which case, you need to get the full experience), then I say watch it from ROA.

You can do F and then sit and watch the fireworks from the ROA area. Not as good as the hub but I would do F any day of the week over the fireworks.
