Any suggestions from recent visitors? Thanks!

Well, they are quite different. Depends on what kind of meal you want and if you have little ones etc...

H&V is a buffet. It is good if you want a cheaper meal and if you have picky eaters or little ones that you don't want to worry about the noise factor.

As buffets go, I think its fine. We ate there several times with the package when our girls were little.

MM is a sit down menu meal. A little bit quieter, more relaxed atmosphere and you'll be waited on. More expensive than H&V. They have a yummy menu and good desserts too.

If you don't have little ones (and even if you do really) and don't care about money, I'd go with MM but they're both fine...just different types of meals.

Thanks! No kids, dining plan, so I think I will switch to Mama Melrose.

Oh well then with no kids and the dining plan (so both restaurants basically cost you the same but if you paid cash, MM would be more expensive) I'd definitely pick MM.

Have fun!

I believe the only thing is that MM is 2 dining points instead of the one at H&V.

Glad to see a Tiger fan on Disboards!
Planning a late November-early December trip. Any suggestions for a fellow tiger fan?

Geaux T-I-G-E-R-S !!!!!!!!!!!!

Was only 1 credit per person last month when we were there for the FDP. We love MM's and would definitely vote for that over H&V. I just don't like buffets all that much.

Yay - I love hearing such nice things about MMs! We chose it because my DH didn't want to do another buffet and we thought our boys would do well with some sort of pasta dish. We'll be seeing Fantasmic for the very first time and have been to WDW many times!!

We couldn't get MM one year, so we went to H&V. We weren't that thrilled. We're going back to MM this year.

We did Mama Melrose's on our honeymoon, and it was yummy. DH got the Vodka Penne, and it was delicious! The salad is great too!

My stepmom took me in Jan. and MM was really good. I would suggest it for dinner!!! Only 1 credit! Even if u have kids they would probably love it!!!! Hope everyone enjoys Disney!!

We are booked at MM with the Fantasmic package for 10/1. I'm happy to hear the rave reviews. DH loves italian food so this was a must.

I would definitely vote for MM, HV is more of a cafeteria style buffett.

We've done both. H&V is a good buffet. All of the food was fresh and yummy. No complaints, except that is was a buffet so it wasn't quiet or relaxing. My kids like buffets so they are happy there, but dh and I would rather have a regular table service meal after spending all day on our feet at MGM.

MM has good food, plus it's more relaxing to sit and be served than it is to do a buffet. We all enjoyed our food there and we have another MM ADR planned for our next trip. The tiramisu is soooooooo good!

Yay Mama Melrose's!! We have 2 ADRs there for our next trip. It's my husband's favourite restaurant in all of WDW. I'm sure you wont be dissapointed if you give it a shot. :goodvibes

We had dinner there with our kids 2 years ago when we went and choose to do the Fantasmic package this year with MM again! Kid's loved it - and they give you the desserts to go, if you like!! Nothing like eating tiramisu and gelato as you walk thru the park!!!;)

Never been to Mama's but went to H & V last summer for Fantasmic! package. It was very noisy as expected with all the families with children. The food in general was okay, although I did like the spooned corn bread and one other dish which I cannot recall.

My DS-9 liked the meatballs. DH said it was very ordinary.
