Is it me or did they always used to have 2 F! shows during busy times? For July 2 I am just seeing a 9pm show and then the Star Wars fireworks at 9:30. Is it possible to see both? I thought for sure they would have a 2nd showing that weekend at least.

You are correct, in the past they have usually had 2 Fantasmic shows during busy periods. About 4 or 5 years ago they went through the whole summer with only having 2 shows 1 day a week, and it was ugly for guests. On days where there is only one show it makes it much more difficult to see. And on the days with 2 shows the park was much, much busier.

Yes, you can see both, though it would be a good idea to get out of the theater quickly when Fantasmic finishes, unless you don't mind watching the fireworks while you are in line exiting the theater.

They are making it tougher and tougher to justify going to Hollywood Studios. At least until the Star Wars expansion is done. I may have to see what the boss (wife) wants to do, see Fantasmic or fireworks.

Moving the fireworks from 9:45 up to 9:30 is new. On higher crowd days especially, you will not be able to fully experience both. The Fantasmic theater takes a while to exit, and it is a long walk to the front. It is extremely unlikely that you would be able to get close enough to see the projections, which are a big part of the Star Wars show.

You can either:
1) Choose to fully experience one and miss the other;
2) Leave Fantasmic early and try to get a position where you can see the projection screens and fireworks.

If you stay until the end of Fantasmic, you will be able to see some of the fireworks as you walk towards the front, but it is not like Wishes which can be seen from all over the park.

We will be there the same time period. I am really hoping that they announce some second shows for Fantasmic, because the first one always fills to capacity, even on much lower crowd days. If not, I'm going to have some disappointed family members, whichever one we choose.

they haven't actually announced the july 4th fireworks schedule yet. Last year it got announced on 6/29 so hopefully by tomorrow what is changing for the holiday will be out..
