Fantasmic is updated in the DLR site

They will probably give your FP after you pay for the food.

I think that's how the WoC dinner at Carthay was. Except they forgot to give us our tix so we ran back to ask for them. Glad we caught it before we left the restaurant. LOL!

Okay, cool. :thumbsup2 So I saw you mention something about regular FP. I must have missed that. We can get a F! FP without the food option? Where are they distributing those?

From the mouseplanet article linked above:

Fastpass tickets will be distributed along Big Thunder Trail starting at park opening. Tickets will be distributed while supplies last, or up to one hour before show time., whichever comes first. The tickets will indicate the show time, return time and assigned viewing section.

It all is a little overwhelming to me. We'll be there on 12/12 but only for the day so I'm not sure we'll want to use prescious time waiting and standing around. What attractions/parts of the park will close during Fantasmic? Are there still two shows per night?

All attractions are open in the area unless they have a tie in into the show. For example, the Mark Twain, Tom Sawyer Island, etc...

There will always be two shows per night unless the park starts to close early on the weekday.

I posted this in the SuperThread, but for those asking about the maps and locations of sections...

I cannot post everything as there are still details to be worked out, but just wanted to post a little more information.

For those wondering if you will need to purchase one of the dining packages to get a decent view, just know that there will still be plenty of "good spots" for guests who choose to obtain the Fantasmic! FPs from the machines. The dining sections are relatively small compared to the overall viewing area, and this is probably why they're selling out quickly. There will even be waterside spots for guests choosing to do Stand-By.

And the FPs obtained through the Aladdin's Oasis option will be very similar to how the World of Color Picnic options worked when those were available.

More details to come, and of course, this is all subject to change and availability!

Looking forward to see how this all works out come December 12th.

Does anybody know for sure if the Blue Bayou will have a special menu to choose from or if you justorder off the regular menu. I believe on Mouseplanet they said you could order anything, but on the Disney Park Blog, a special 3 course menu was mentioned On the booking site, I don't see it mentioned- it merely says 3 courses. Maybe someone asked when they booked?

The CM I spoke with said you just order off the regular menu. If that is true, it really is a good deal assuming you would be eating anyway because the price of the Surf and Turf is $41.00 so ????

Maybe they will say you can order anything BUT the Surf and Turf. Otherwise, they better have lots of lobster on hand.:)

Still they are charging 61 so they would still make their money on any selection on the menu.

I tried to make reservations for 1/10 online and it says there's nothing available for any of the restaurants. I assume (I hope!) that they haven't opened them yet...

WOC has the FP system and now Disney is arranging a FP system for Fantasmic!

Do you think they’ll follow suit and have a FP for viewing the fireworks?

Change.... Change... Change... A Fantasmic! FP oh my.... What will they think of next?

This is going to be interesting. With it beginning mid December, that should give them time to smooth out the wrinkles before we go in March.

I'm not one to pay for a meal or dessert package to get a FP for a show. My group is too large and my budget doesn't stretch that far.

I'll be watching to see how the basic FP works.

Thanks to all that will be posting their experience with the new system after 12/12.

I see it working very similar to WoC, especially the grab & go. I am very interested to see the seating vs standing options for the regular admission tickets/FP. I will miss my seating at RBT.

FRUSTRATING day trying to book our reservation...
I managed to get a 6:50 Blue Bayou package reservation on 12/15 but so far two different CMs could not confirm if we would be eligible for the 8:45 Fantasmic show (1st show). I made a 6 PM reservation on an alternate account (just in case), but think it will be impossible to get through the 5:30 parade crowd at this time! I want a 6:30 reservation so we could be guaranteed the first show, have time for an (alcoholic) drink before dinner, and not have to battle the 5:30 parade crowd.

I also could not get a solid answer about whether you can stay to watch the fireworks after the first show.

Please reply if you know anything more about this.

p.s. When I spoke to a CM yesterday about the viewing areas, this is what I was told:

BB: Front & Center, seated on cushions
RB: To the left of BB
HB: To the right of BB (near pirates cove?) - standing room only
Grab & Go: The in general admission queue with other FP holders

Unless you are dining at Club 33, they do not serve alcohol at DL, only in DCA.

Fwiw the CM I spoke with referenced 6 different viewing areas.:confused3

We are planning to have our pre-dinner drink in the hotel lobby (Grand Californian) and then head over to BB for our dinner reservation. The flaw in my plan is getting through the 5:30 parade crowd for a 6 PM reservation.

Thanks for the heads up!
