Fantasmic! Information and shared experiences!

Dang! This is some good intel, thank you!

Sooooooo … I have a Riverbelle reservations for next weekend but I would MUCH MUCH rather eat at BB. But I don’t want to let the RB ressies go in order to maybe get into BB as a walk up and maybe get a dining package. Ugh, why does Disney make everything so so difficult these days? We have park hoppers and can’t even get to BB until probably 1:30 realistically. What to do, what to do????
Assuming you have the regular RB package reserved (not the premium dining), I would keep it and then try to get BB the day of by going to the restaurant right when it opens. If you do end up getting BB, then cancel RB by either going to the restaurant in person to cancel (I've cancelled day of in person no problem) or try to modify your reservation and rebook farther out (and then cancel).

Did the BB folks get cushions tonight?

Now I am seriously considering trying to walk up for BB next week - but my luck they'll start taking reservations and I'll be out of luck.

I cannot see a way to modify HB package at all - just to cancel. I'm nervous to cancel it without knowing I can get into BB, but I'm also nervous holding it because I don't want a penalty. Hrm. Choices!

We can’t go when BB opens at 11am due to the park hopping restriction (we start in DCA). I truly hate that restriction so much!!!

We did the Hungry Bear Togo package tonight for the second show. Haven’t seen the show yet so I can’t comment on our view yet or the process to enter the viewing area. However, the Hungry Bear Togo was a mess tonight. I got there around 6:40 for a 7pm reservation. I couldn’t check in till 6:45. I am so glad I went early. Some people had been waiting an hour for their food when I got there. I got my food around 7:30. I assume and hope this was a one-off night. The line was backed down the bridge when I left with my food at 7:30. Our food was good but not super hot. The food sat out for a little bit while they sorted out the order mess and then I took it to eat right outside the castle so that is some of the reason. Overall, we enjoyed the food still. Compared to 2019, I thought the meal was significantly better. I think it was $5 more than in 2019, but it was more and better food overall.
DL Gal reported that hungry bear has often been disorganized and delayed for mobile order. So I’m guessing it’s not a one off. 🙁

Last minute can you go in and change your reservation? To weeks away. Then cancel that one. I learned that here and did it for one of our reservations last month.

I'm curious about your chair. Did you buy it at Disneyland or bring it with you? I have a terrible back so am always looking for back support items.

Have a great time watching the show!
This is the type of chair. I brought it with me (it’s pretty light and I was able to barely jam it into my backpack). Went thru security 2x with it and no issues at all. And it worked out great during the show!

Wow it sounds like the Fantasmic packages aren’t really making it easier to see the show! I’ve seen it with a package many times in the past and they didn’t let us in more than an hour before showtime. (maybe I’m old and this was a long time ago?) CMs would just kindly tell us what time to come back. Some people would try to hang around/line up, but most were happy to follow directions! We’d usually splurge and do BB, but that looks pretty cost prohibitive now, especially if I still have to get there so early. I think I may just skip the whole thing when we’re there next week, or just try to walk up to the later show. It bums me out that they are overselling the sections and making it so hard! I know Disney is in it to make money, but it feels bad.

Since I ended up in the Blue Bayou (long story posted above), I can say I saw no one with cushions. Now, maybe I was just sitting with fellow Hungry Bear people in the wrong section, but I really did not see one cushion. We have done BB in the past at a much lower cost and loved the cushions. With this new price, I would be very disappointed to not get a cushion!
We still use our cushions for all kinds of “old knees” issues!

If I’m not mistaken from pre Covid the second show doesn’t have the defined viewing areas like the first show does for dining packages and the viewing area is usually not as big.

Anyone score a RBT premium dining package today? Again I did a “mock” booking and nothing. Do they really go that fast, like in a minute?

Please chime in and let me know how/when you booked. I’d love to hear experiences.

I’m guessing because there are so few of them they go super fast.
