Is this appropriate for a 6 and 3 year old girl? Heard could get in before the crowd if you eat at one of three restaurants at MGM? True? What time is good for reservations? What time is show in October?

It can get intense when the villians do their thing. But we kept reminding my DGDs that Mickey would save the day. and He did! The Fantasmic Dinner Package gives you access to a reserved seating section. This allows you to arrive a little later than the general public. The Restaurant Board has info on this program. When you make your reservation for the FDP the Cm should tell you what seatings are available. There are a limited number of packages at each restaurant but it is a big number. I think the October show is at 7pm.

Thanks for your reply. I am embarrassed to admit that I have no idea what any of your abbreviations mean. Could you resend for this not-so-computer-savvy mom? Thanks.

What is the restaurant board?

We have used the fantasmic dinner package the last two years. We love it and recommend it to everyone. The seats are great and there is NO waiting!! We eat at the Hollywood and Vine and think the food is wonderful and it is the less expensive of the three choices. The tickets for the show does not cost anything all you have to do is make a priority seating and tell them you want the dinner package. My kids love the show they are 5 and 3. It is intense but Mickey saves the day!! :earboy2:

The only thing to be aware of is that it gets very loud, so if your youngsters are frieghtened by loud noises, it could be an issue. The dinner package gets you a reserved seat on the far end of the amphitheatre. We usually go about an hour ahead of the performance and end up sitting dead center. You will want to be at least 10 rows back to keep from getting splashed.

Can't advise on the restaurant issue, but, we did take in Fantasmic on our last trip---it's an AWESOME show---the best advice I can give is if your kids are startled/scared of fireworks, you may want to sit this one out---we saw LOTS of kids there when we were there last year and they all seemed to be taking it very well---I never heard screams and crying, like our first trip, with the Alien...I declare, some folks need there heads examined---it was pretty cool---but I was 30 something and there were kids in there that were TERRIFIED---I think it all depends on the child---and only you can make that call...good luck and if you all take in this show, I hope you enjoy it, we LOVED IT and see it as a "not to be missed!" At the end of the show, be ready with your camera and have one that takes GOOD photos at night, because a lot if not ALL of the WDW characters come out of beautiful boats! Again, good luck.

Don't miss it!! I would think that you won't have problem,there is that much to see that they probably won't hear the noise ( it's not as loud as Epcot's fireworks).Getting there an hour early should be fine but be warned there are CMs selling lots of flashy light things!! The only downside is once the show has finished,everyone must leave the same way but if you're not in a rush,then it's worth waiting until the stampede has quietened down.

Just wanted to add that the october show is at 7:30pm. I took my kids who were 5 and 3 at the time and they loved it! I did reinforce the idea that good always wins over evil and that Mickey had strong magic to help him win. They weren't worried at all and just kept saying that Mickey would come and beat the bad guys!
There are fireworks and a few bangs so if they are particularly afraid of pyrotechnics, then you may want to stay away. Hope this helps and have a great trip,

Claire xx

This is the Theme Parks Board if you scroll down the forum jump link you will find listings for all the DIS boards The Restaurant Board gives experiences and ideas regarding restaurants.
DGD= Disney Granddaughters
FDP= Fantasmic Dinner Package.
I believe there is a list of abbreviations on the welcome to Dis board.
Have a great trip.

It can get loud but if they can handle the 3-D shows, I think they'll be fine at F!

Hi, even though you will have a dinner reservation, there are no rainchecks unless they approve it - we just came back and had dinner stood in a lighting storm like all the other crazy people and this was a night with two shows- they finally canceled the 9:00 show but told us we had to wait until the 10:00 show was canceled before they would approve rainchecks- we gave up and got out of the storm :rotfl: we went back two nights later and to the 2nd show we got front row center and didn't even get splashed! :cheer2: :wizard: Of course the show was awsome, so we tried it again tried the 9:00 show and it was standing room only, so crowded a toddler kept leaning on me from behind - it was in no way as fun the first one we saw- still a great show :earboy2:

We have FDP reservations for 4pm on Oct 4th. Is there only 1 show offered in Oct or are there still 2? ::MickeyMo
