Fantasmic? Illuminations?

If you had to choose one, which would you choose? We've seen Fantasmic at DL and we've seen Illuminations. Thanks in advance for everyone's opinons!!!

I would hate to have to make that choice. I guess it comes down to whether you want to end your evening with or without Mickey and friends. I might do Fantasmic in your situation just so you've seen both versions since you've already seen Illuminations.

considering that you saw fantasmic at DL. I would see IllumiNations. I have heard that Fantasmic is much better out there than at WDW. So I would see IllumiNations again.

Maybe I am just wacked, but I found Fantasmic BORING! With all the hype, I was so excited to finally go to that last year and we ended up leaving. We were like, "this is IT?".

I do find Illuminations magical though, so that would be my pick!

Oh and a pro and con IMO. Fantasmic has a HUGE amount of people packed into a small space and they ALL leave at the SAME time! Down a pretty small walkway too I might add. And if you have to fetch a stroller, WOW! Illuminations is just more spread out. Once outside the gates of course, it is all the same I guess...except Epcot has the monorail system, so many people are leaving on that instead of everyone leaving by car or bus.

I would definitely go for Fantasmic.
To me Illuminations is a nice firework show, but Fantasmic is just so Disney.

I guess since one of your choices was not the "Wishes" fireworks in the MK....thats not an option?? But definitely should be!! It certainly would have been my choice!

I find Fantasmic more of the Disney themeing than Illuminations. I certainly do "F" with dinner ressies too! You can get a seat with no problem 15 min before the show..if necessary.

I saw "F" in DL @ the dessert buffet ( holds about 15-20 people) on Walt's balcony..it was a great show..but..the area in DL was sooo small?? People below packed like sardines, no seats, shoulder to shoulder, pushing and shoving. Then there was the exodus...horrible..never again!!!


Don't like "I" very much. In fact, the lul in the action and music @ "I"...is boring to me. I dont like the "new" version. The "old" Illuminations..was just wonderful and I wish I had the music from it.

Illuminations gets my vote, I have seen that too many times to count and I love it each and every time!

I'm with MemoryMaker...I was disappointed with Fantasmic. But I absolutely love Illuminations. Since you've seen the DL version of Fantasmic, I would definately go with Illuminations.

Hard choice but I'd probably pick Illuminations. I think it's the best regularly shown fireworks on property.

The WDW Fantastmic is nothing in comparison to the DL version. If you've seen that, you've seen the best. We were very disappointed in Fantasmic at WDW, and always perfer Illuminations.

We love Fantasmic at WDW...hearing everyone say that Fantasmic at DL is so much better almost makes me want to head west to check out DL! lol, my DH is REALLY in trouble now!

If Wishes is not included, do Illuminations, hands down. It is beautiful and magical! Fantastmic we did not care for at all. More like watching a movie. Will never do it again!

No, they are just outside, open to everyone. Illuminations can be seen pretty much where you are standing when they start, in World Showcase. Being on the edge of the water is best of course, but you can still see it if you aren't that close.

Fantasmic is in a theater of sorts, outside. It opens two HOURS before it starts and people start showing up that early to get a seat. We got there a good half hour before it started and were one of the very last to be seated! So, that adds to the cons list for that one IMO! You can however, make a dining PS at one of a few restaurtants there, to get a PS at Fantasmic afterwards, which I would recommend. If we ever do it again, we will do that. Maybe our seats alll the way to the one side, is why we didn't like it that much.

Although I haven't seen Fantasmic, I pick Illuminations. I've seen it so many times and it still is incredible every time.
