I have heard mixed reviews about young children and fantasmic? Is it scary? Loud? I have a 5 year old who is not great with loud noises and a 1 year old.

While I can say that Fantasmic can be both scary and loud, in parts, I never had a problem with either of my children being scared during the show - other than the normal "Ohh, that snake is scary!!" - kind of thing. As a matter of fact, on two occasions, I've had my kids on my lap and they've fallen asleep during Fantasmic. I think the key is that it's outside, in sort of a "football" stadium kind of setting, and if the kids do get scared, you can easily distract them away from the scary part.

My DNephew1 (6) is scared of everything so if your child is scared normally then maybe he/she will be a little uncomfy at Fantasmic. My other DNephew2 is the same age is DN1 and he loved Fantasmic.

To get close you have to get there so early therefore we've never had a close seat. When you are towards the back and so far away from the action it isn't too intense.

I took DD when she was 3. She didn't like loud noises, so I had her wear ear plugs. The sound did not bother her. She was not fond of the villians in the show, but otherwise enjoyed it. We did sit toward the back as she didn't want to be near the fire and on the end of the row in case we had to make a speedy exit.
