Is there a difference in seating for those who get the fantasmic dinner package and those who just get the fast pass for it? I am trying to decided if the dinner package is worth it if we can just get a fast pass for it.

Big difference. Dining package seating is front and center, FP is way off to side if any at all.

Fp+ holders fill in all of the sections to the left of Dining. If arriving at least 45 minutes before showtime, seating in the Pocahontas section may be available - it's the section next to Dining. After that, each section to the left continues to be filled by Fp+ only.

Standby guests fill in all sections to the right of Dining and then last minute standby guests can fill in Fp+ areas if space is available.

So the last time we did F! dining pkg in 2012 we were seated to the right of the stage..so does this mean we get better seats more in the center this time? :)

Yes! They are excellent seats with the best view of the stage and water screens. And, you can show up 30 minutes or so before Fantasmic and have a choice of seating within the two center sections.

Isn't it amazing that the dining package people were subjected to the far right seats until recently? Why weren't they always seated in the middle? The dining package isn't worth doing for us now since my 11 year old doesn't eat much and I won't pay that much for his food. I just don't know why it took them so long to realize the dining package people should get the better seats.

I was going to post this as its own topic, but figured maybe a Fantasmic package expert could help me out in here and save the clutter ;)

I just booked Hollywood & Vine for 6:40pm with my Disney dining plan. There are two shows that night...9 and 10:30.

Two questions...
1) This only costs one table seating, right?
2) Which show do I get or do I get my choice?

Thanks in advance

Correct, 1 TS credit for H&V. Dining Package seating is for the first Fantasmic.

It is only one table service credit as long as it isn't the Star Wars packages at H&V during May and June

OK thanks...this is for 6/22 so I don't think it will be affected by SW weekends, and I wanted to the first show anyway. So they just give you 3 passes to the show and you can get front and center seats and only have to go up around 30 minutes before? No waiting in line or anything? I remember before i didn't do this because the seats were not worth it, so this is a welcome change for me.

No need to wait in line. The CMs and Managers make sure only Dining Guests sit in the Dining area. 30 minutes before showtime will give you a good choice of seats. The sections looked full around 15 minutes before the show.

Is it worth it to FP+ Fantasmic if you will have someone in an ecv/wheelchair? That seating is always at the top, correct?

There is wheelchair seating in the standby area. For standby, it's best to go early to make sure you can be in that specific area.

I want to mention that you have to book the package specifically. Just having an ADR will not get you the vouchers for the show.

Just re-checked and thanks for the tip. Mine does read Fantasmic at the end so I assume it is the package.

Philly burbs...where? I'm in Gloucester City.

Congratulations!

Great, just wanted to make sure since it wasn't mentioned. :)

We are in eastern Montco.

This is great to hear! Like another poster, I remember the seating being way off to the right. Extra glad to have a Fant! package booked now. :cool1:

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Back in 2006, the seats were way off to the side. People who just got there even at the last minute got better seats so I was wondering why I even paid for the package. At least the seats are better now so it might actually be worth it.

It's because Disney had to do something with Dining to make it better than Fp+. When they tested Fp+ in the center sections, Fant Dining Packages were canceled.

Now, Dining is premium seating, Fp+ having a large section reserved is good and standby is okay if you want to get to the amphitheater 60 minutes before showtime. And, Diners still have a good reason to choose the Dining Package.
