Fantasmic experts - I have a few questions...

We are going in October and are thinking about the the Fantasmic dinner package at Brown Derby. I understand MGM will be open until 8pm the week that we are there and my questions are...

1. What would be the best time to try to make my ADR?

2. Is fantasmic held every day?

3. Is your credit card billed at the time of reservation or is it charged on the day that you are using the package?

I can only answer one of the questions....Fantasmic may or may not be held every night. If you check the park hours for your visit you can click on each particular date and check if they have it listed for that date. It really depends on in season/off season and what time the park closes for that day. I know in October during our trip (10/3-10/13) it is every night but you would have to check your particular dates.

1. What would be the best time to try to make my ADR?

ASAP. However, they often don't open up the later times until closer to the date, like the 30-day mark (it varies, doesn't seem to follow a set schedule). Best bet is to make one now, and try to move it to later if you desire. That way, even if for some reason no later ones show up, you are still covered.

2. Is fantasmic held every day?

Yes. On very busy days it has two shows (and for those it's always best to skip the package and just go to the less-crowded later show). However, it is doubtful there will be two shows during your stay.

3. Is your credit card billed at the time of reservation or is it charged on the day that you are using the package?

They take a CC garuntee, but they do not charge you until they bring the bill for your meal. You don't even have to pay with the same card. They only charge you if you are a no-show ($10).

Hi! I made my ADR for the FDP at Brown Derby for Oct 12 (Wed) and all that was available at the moment was 3:50 !! I am bummed, but from what I hear on this board, they will open later times when they know exactly what time Fantasmic will btake place. Historically, for my date, it is at 7:30. I would like to move my ADR to about 5 or 5:30.

So go ahead and make your ADR for whatever time is available, then call back! Good luck!

I called yesterday and the only times I had to choose from were 3:30 and 3:40 (I took the 3:40). When I made the ressie they told me that the only times that they were offering now were between 3:00 and 4:00 I will follow everyone's advise and call back around 30 days and hopefully get something more reasonable.

Fantasmic is at 8:00 while we are there - so I am hoping for something around 5:00

When is a good time to call back?? I made our FDP at 90 days, and our ADR is for 4:20pm at Mama Melrose. I'd like something a little later since fantasmic is at 8pm that night. 30 days out?

Hi expiratesho!

I honestly do not know. I will post when I get a better time. I am going to call again this week, and maybe every week for the next month or two....until I get what I want! And if I don't get a later time...i will have a few cocktails, savor my appetizer, and take my time for dinner!
