While there is a "Secondary Exit Path" in the very far upper right corner of the theater (see #11 on map below) it very seldom leads to a faster exit.

On some nights the CMs might route guests taking that route to go out near the park gates, but on might nights guests are routed back to the same Sunset Blvd. exit that is used by the guests from the "main" exit.

We are going Tues 1/24- only one show. So it seems don't bother trying the secondary exit path= getting all the way to the left for it?

In December we were seated in Hades, i.e. nearly last section to exit, and we were routed via the secondary exit. There was no option to exit any other way. It was a one-show night, though, if that makes a difference. I really disliked it, though. It's just a crummy, unthemed, backstage road that leads out to Hollywood Boulevard. Very unmagical and way too dimly lit.

Was there this past Thursday and took the secondary exit (11 on Robo's map) and we had the option of going left toward the front of the park (hollywood blvd) or right (toward Sunset)
I always take secondary exit since I find that it is quicker since people tend to go the same way they came in.
In December they would only let you go to the left toward the park entrance, I have never taken the secondary road where they only let me go on to Sunset blvd

All the times we've watched Fantasmic, we tend to always leave about 1-2 min early to beat the crowd, and have always but one time taken the "secondary" exit that puts us out at the front of the park. From what I've seen it seems like they always have the two exits open. Taking the secondary exit is nice if you're leaving the park and leave just before the mass of people so it's a quicker route to the front

I can imagine that. From the back of the exiting crowd, though, it's an "I wish I had a jet pack" shuffle-walk. We timed if from the top of Hades to Hollywood Boulevard at 20 minutes.

They do always have the secondary ("Auxiliary") exit open.
But, what they do not always have open is at the bottom of the ramp, the exit that heads toward the Oscars/Crossroads/Main Gate area.
(See the short red path "Not always open" on the map below.)

It was, over many years, that most guests were NOT sent that way, but were directed
(sharp turn right) toward the Beauty & the Beast theater, and exited onto Sunset Blvd, next to the toy store.
Guests then must walk to the end of Sunset Blvd. to Hollywood Blvd. and then
back to the gates from there.

It may well be that with the advent of the Star Wars Fireworks they do use the "to the gates" end of the path more often.

I believe this is the current case. Ever since the SW show they try and get people to exit toward Crossroads

We were there in December as well and were directed to the secondary path.
No other option.
That night there was only 1 show, and Jingle Bam fireworks were at almost the same time. (I believe 6:45 for JB and 7 pm for F+)
We also found the path to be poorly lit and actually kind of creepy. (Except for the other 1000 of our new best friends who were all exiting with us.)
HS was closed when we exited though, that probably has a lot to do with it!

if everyone were directed through that one exit it was more around 7500 of your new best friends :)

It sure felt that way when our whole December show was routed that way. Very slow, a little creepy, too dark, and further delays due to groups just stopping and standing in the middle of the path, and one child who fell face first into a pothole. (See again: too dark.)

We have a FP for Fantasmic...what area would we be in?

Shaded areas:
(First or Only F! performance of the evening)
Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating
Red= Dining Package Reserved
Blue= FP+ Reserved
Purple= Can be either FP+ or Dining Plan Reserved, depending on needs.

(Second or Third F! performance of the evening)
Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating
Red, Purple, Blue= FP+ Reserved
(Although much of the outer Blue will likely be used for Standby.)
