Ok, so last Friday night 5/09 I saw Fantasmic and I was all excited for the part when Maleficent changes into the dragon...but no dragon came out.

Does anyone know- malfunction? Or did they get rid of the dragon?

I was super bummed, esp. since it was DBF's 1st time and he had never seen it before.

Sometimes they run the show without the dragon.

It can be due to a technical problem, or a staffing problem.

Sorry you missed it on that night. It's a great effect.

BTW,
Do you now what they use to create the FIRE BREATH the dragon uses to set the lake on fire?

(It's quite a surprise to learn what substance they use for that.)

Anything new I can learn about Disney today would be great. Enlighten me! :)

It is powdered COFFEE CREAMER (aka "Cremora")!!

That stuff, power-blown and mixed with air, is very flammable!

The flames on the WATER are made by igniting Propane (Hank Hill would be so proud) that is released from underwater values and rises to the surface.

That is pretty neat. DBF was asking all week if the fireworks etc. were all environment safe. Seems that is.

Well, at least I'll be going back in Jan. Hopefully the dragon will come out then. Thanks for the tidbit.

Good God Bobby, don't tell the people cremora's just as flammable as propane...do you want me to go out of business?

I saw the show on Saturday night (May 10) and saw the dragon HOWEVER I was at Wishes on SUNDAY (Mother's Day) and Tinkerbell didn't fly!!! I was very disappointed!

Yes.
That's something else that may or may not happen.

Buck Strickland, owner of Strickland Propane and Propane Accessories doesn't use Cremora in his coffee for that very reason.

He insists upon REAL cream!

Those darn fickle dragons and fairies of Disney!

Nice videos Robo! Usually when I see them on youtube there is a ton of background noise and the camera is shaky so your version was delightful to watch!
