Hi.

Can anyone comment on dinner at Brown Derby and then Fantasmic? Is there a dinner package? Any feedback from anyone who has done it would be appreciated. What time should we make the reservation??

Thank you.

Paul

We have had dinner at the Brown Derby twice.

The Fantasmic dinner package is very good. The food is very good and the service was top notch.

My strong recommendation is that you make your PS for dinner early rather than late. If Fantasmic is at 7:30 make the ressie for 5:00 - 5:30 at the latest. The reason ---- you have to be at the Fantasmic gate by 7:00. If you want a relaxing dinner - which of course you do based on the prices and the general atmosphere of the restaurant - you need at least 1.5 hours for dinner. If they are running late - which will happen frequently then you need to allow for a little extra time. 5:00 is a little early but it will make the dinner more relaxing.

Hope this helps.

Hi.

Thank you for the information. That's what I was looking for.

Be sure to read the other threads on this forum about the dinner package. There are some changes and menu limitations that may impact whether the package is truly the best choice for you.
Remember, the purpose it to get seating at the show--the dinners are subject to change at any time.

We've done both the package and eaten/seen the show separately. The package was disappointing both from a food standpoint and from where the seats were located in the stadium. They're not in the middle like you may think.

Oh, I did assume that the seating was decent. I also assumed that there would be less waiting in line ahead of time for the show. What time do you need to line up usually if you're not doing the package?

What do others think?

We've done BD Fantasmic pkg 2x - the meals were excellent-service is slow and very relaxed - plan accordingly-yes you do want to be at the gate at least 1/2 hour before show time-I understand that they release the reserve seating to the general public after that. The seats are to the very left of the theatre-not bad but not smack center. If you don't do pkg and it's a busy time of year they recommend 90 mins to 2 hours ahead of time.

We go in late June/early July. Keep in mind it's usually raining off and on that time of year, so the parks aren't quite so crowded. Each time we've waited less than 30 minutes for the show without the package.
Sorry, but I am not a fan of the package--too much potential for "change without notice" on the meal-deals. And any seats on either end are not ideal--you need to shoot for more middle, down low.

OK.

Every choice has pros and cons. Yes the seats are off to the side but you do not miss anything. Most of the show is set back and easy to see. You will walk away amazed if you are anywhere in the theater.

If you have a night that you really want to see the show the Fatasmic package is a great idea. You are guaranteed seating, you will have a good meal, and you won't have to wait 90 plus minutes. If the show is cancelled you will have no show and a good meal.

We like it because it is a nice relaxing dinner and unless the show is called off we will see a great show! I just don't have enough patience to wait over an hour and a half - the park time is too important.

Good luck with your choice.

When I made a reservation last week for Fantasmic on March 30th the CM told me if it was rained out I would be given tickets for a show another night during my stay..... hope this is true:D
