Fantasmic Dinner Package

If you make a reservation for a Fantasmic Dinner package, but you don't know whether there will be one or two shows yet ( I am going in August), is the package always for the earlier show time? If so, what would be a recommended time then for a PS?

It will always be for the earlier show. Get an early PS so that you can hit the park while everyone else is standing in line. When there's two shows it's because the park is crowded. I've heard more people will wait in line for the first show than can actually fit in the amphitheater. This would be the perfect time to hit the rides.

You'll want to be done with your meal by 7:30 ish. So maybe 6:00 PS for HBD or MM's and 6:30 for H&V.

Kicker is they don't open up the later sittings for Fantasmic until closer to the date, anywhere from 30 to 60 days out. Get the latest time you can so that you get the Fantasmic vouchers then call back periodically to try to change your time.

As noted above, yes, the FDP vouchers will be honored at the first show.
If you would prefer the 2nd show, there most likely will be no reason to do the FPD. We went to the 2nd show during Christmas week and were able to walk right in less than 1/2 hour before the show and get 4th row seats. By show time the sections on either end of the theater were still empty.

If you go in July, when we went, the second show might be just as opacked as the first, as it was for us. We waited in a huge crowd, it was awful, aching feet, no room to move. And we had to wait until all the people from the first show were out or the staduim area. Never again. We're doing the package this July.
