Please could some one explain how this works please? Isn't fantasmic only shown at night? I tried a dummy booking for it and the available time at vine and dine was at 3.35pm :confused3 do you have to watch the show straight after your food? Is the place fantasmic is shown at near the restaurant? Sorry to ask loads of questions but I'm very confused about it all

You have lunch or early dinner at one of the restaurants for a fixed price (which is more than eating at the restaurants if paying cash but the same number of DDP credits). At the end of the meal you are given a ticket for the reserved seating area at the show that night.

Personally, we don't find the package worth even in peak season we always get a seat at the later show walking in only a few minutes before show time.

We also aren't fussed about any of the restaurants - Mama Melrose would be our pick if we had to choose.

I would agree with this - we had the fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose - food was nice but we didn't need the package. People were arriving a few minutes before the show started and still getting seated, plus I don't think the 'package' area offers the best seating. We had a GAC, so our seating was at the back anyway lol, so the package was wasted on us ;)

We are on the dining plan and have done this using different restaurants.

The reserved seating area is not the best viewing area, although you can still see everything. There are better seats.

We have used the dinner show in the past as when our kids were younger they struggled to stay up late enough to watch the later show:rotfl:
Now they are teenagers I struggle to get them out of bed in the morning...I am sure my DS is nocturnal!! ;)

It is awesome though!! It is my DD fave!!:thumbsup2

We did the Fantasmic dinner package a few years ago and I seem to remember that starters were included on the DDP. I don't know if this is still the case.

Yes its a 3 course deal.
Done it 3 times at Mama Melrose, last time we had no choice for dessert, they just brought out a dessert tray to share for the table. Always one of my least favourite meals in Disney but worth doing if you want to see the early Fantasmic.

We did it years ago at The Brown Derby, can you still eat there as part of the package? I agree the seats are not the best. The only plus was we were let out through a backstage walkway which led us to the main exit, thus missing all the crowds which was great, but not sure they do this either!

The have moved the seating to more central but they have stopped the back stage exit.

If you have to see F! Then the package is a good way to do it especially if on the DP.

There is MM and H&V for 1TS and Hollywood Brown Derby for 2TS.

Personally, if we can walk in and get seats we will watch the show otherwise we won't bother.

MM used to be a favourite of ours however like most Disney restaurants the quality and choice has gone :sad2:

We have done this three times and the seating has moved as stated and is much better than it was previously. Best view I have ever had and so worth it for us this time. Package price includes three courses so of you are on the DDP you get a starter, which normally you would have to pay for.

I'm sure I read somewhere that this will be excluded from ddp next year ..... Can anyone confirm this? :confused3

They are testing fastpass + with preferred viewing for Fantasmic, thats the way I would go rather than have a meal somewhere I maybe don't want to.

But there are only three TS options at DHS and they all offer the Fantasmic package. So it's one of them, quick service or off park..... That said I would also probably choose FP+ as the TS at the Studios are less than stellar.

No there's also 50s Prime Time and Sci-Fi Dine In as well for TS in the studios.

TBH we eat elsewhere then head back for F!

Brown Derby used to be my favourite restaurant. Two years back we went to eat there and found they had totaly scrambeled the reservations. About 20 other people and ourselves had to wait for over an hour past our booked time, not even a sorry or ann excuse given by the staff. The restaurant was heaving and we had to be shoved into the small side "private" dining room, dress code had gone for a ball of chalh, people in shorts an T shirts everywhere. The Cobb salad was half the size it used to be and the mains were unimpressive with our expensive bottle of wine being mediocre. Not worth the two TS and we missed Fantasmic. Never been back since and never will.
