I can't seem to find out how much the Fantasmic Dinner Package at Hollywood Brown Derby costs. Can anyone tell me?

We are debating between brown derby and mama melrose. Is the additional cost worth going to brown derby? What have you had there that was fantastic?

Thanks in advance!

There is no additional charge for the pkg. It would require 2TS credits if on the DDP, otherwise you may order off the ala carte menu. If you decide to cancel, there will be a $10 cancellation fee if cancelled within 48 hrs. I do believe that most seating connected with the pkg requires you to eat fairly early.

Not quite. You're right that guests eating at The Hollywood Brown Derby using the Fantasmic! Dinner Package can order off the menu with no additional charge. But at Mama Melrose's, the package costs $32.99, plus tax and tip. In this situation, all diners are entitled to an appetizer, entree, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage.

Now consider that the cheapest entree at The Hollywood Brown Derby costs $22. Unless you do not order any appetizers, desserts or drinks, you will ultimately pay more than if you choose Mama Melrose's.

That said, I like Mama Melrose's more than the average review indicates, but I think the Brown Derby is worth the extra money. The food is considerably better, and the price likely is not substantially higher, because the average party does not order individual appetizers and dessert for each person.

Good luck!

I simply stated that there is no additional charge in ANY of the restaurants for the Fantasmic pkg. By pointing out that BD requires 2 TS credits, it's pretty obvious that it's more pricey than the others, unless you simply order apps. You must also consider that if Fantasmic is rained out, you do not get rain checks for your seats, so be certain that you are picking a place where you do wish to eat, not just for the seats.

We've done both. We definitely prefer Mama Melrose. We had a so-so meal at the Brown Derby (I had to send my steak back twice and DH hated the grapefruit cake) and our service was awful (90 minutes for our lunch meal...and only five tables occupied in the entire restaurant); just don't think it is worth two table service credits. We've been to Mama Melrose three or four times now and we've always had very good food and very good service.

My question about cost has to do with the fact that the allears website doesn't have a cost for the package at Brown Derby. It states that it is $32.99 for Mama Melrose but there is no price for the package at Brown Debry. Is there still a prepriced package at Brown Derby that allows you to get an appetizer, entree, dessert and drink? We are not on the dining plan.

It used to be $50+ per person for the F! dinner package at Brown Derby if you paid OOP. I don't know if you are required to get an entree at BD if you pay OOP (based on what All Ears says about a la carte) - when we did the F! package at MM, we received an appetizer, entree and dessert and paid the package price. As the PP said, if you are on the DDP, you get the appetizer, entree, drink and dessert for 2 TS credits.

Hope someone chimes in with a definitive answer for you!

Here's one thread I found from a few months ago:

I'm also wondering how they book it over the phone if there's no preset dinner prices like H&V or MM. I'm just curious if you MUST order an entree' at Brown Derby. I was pricing things out and was gonna go with Hollywood and Vine. I don't have a problem paying $26.99 each for us, but the $13.99 for each kid, especially a 3yr old, is a bit much. We aren't a family that does appetizers and desserts in addition to dinner on a regular basis so my grand plan was to book Brown Derby package and just eat light, maybe even just appetizers for us. The kids meals are only like $7, much better than the $13.99 buffet prices.

I believe that if you order the FDP at Brown Derby, you pay a fixed price that includes one appetizer, one entree, and one desert. You don't have to get all that food if you don't want, but you do still have to pay the set price for the package. So, it's just like Mama Melrose, except that it costs 2 credits instead of one if you are using the dining plan. The last time I paid attention, the cost was $50 per adult and $14 or so for children, but it could have gone up. I'm not sure whether there is a seasonal upcharge for peak season.

I have a Fantasmic Dinner Package reservation for April 9th and I was told that it is no longer a fixed-price menu. The only stipulation is that you must book it as the dinner package not as a regular ADR. The reservation is guaranteed with a credit card and there is a $10 charge for canceling with less than 48 hours notice.

Good info. If you can order salads, or whatever, it could actually be the cheapest FDP option.

the price of the FDP for BD is $51 per adult. So if you're happy having a $51 salad. There is no longer a set menu for FDP but the price is absolutely fixed and BD is the most expensive.

I have a FDP adr for 04/04/10. When I booked I was told $50.05 per adult.
Yesterday I called WDW dining to reserve Wishes Dessert party and the very competent CM confirmed that FDP is a fixed price and you may choose three courses from the menu. It is $50.05 each - HTH :goodvibes!

Well, I guess what I'm not understanding is that why are they listing BD with no prices and saying ala carte is now allowed if you really have to book a preset price of $50pp?

the price is pre-set, the menu is not. In the past, there was a special menu from which you had to choose. This is no longer the case. You can choose the most or the least expensive appie, entree, dessert as your tastes dictate but the PRICE remains the same (I think the $50.05 does sound correct). Your bill is not determined by the price of the individual components you order but you can order anything off the regular menu. Does this explain it?

In 2009, fantasmic packages were offered for lunch in addition to dinner packages.

Has anyone been able to book a fantasmic package using lunch? If so, what times were you given? I'd prefer that if the meal times are more around 12noon.

The dinner packages' times were around 3:45pm or 4pm. I'd prefer to not eat so early.

We had what was considered a Fantasmic Lunch Package in January, but our reservation was at 3:05.
