We will be going Jan 14/2010 -- Now I know that this really isn't "busy" time -- but the is only the one show that day, so I'm thinking that it would be a bit busy?? So we are thinking of doing the Hollywood & Vine package -- oh also we have a 7 year old son that I know would not appreciate standing in line -- But my main question is -- lets say that if it is not that busy I still can move to other seating that is more centally located -- as my understanding is that I have to show up 30-45 minutes early anyway -- would I be able to move around??? thank You:surfweb:

Not sure of an answer to your question, but we've done the dinner package twice. In my opinion, it's a better deal at Mamma Melrose's than at H&V. At MM you get an appetizer, entree, and desert. They even allowed me to order the calamari for myself even though it is listed as an appetizer for 2.

If you haven't already booked the package by now, it may be too late. The Fantasmic packages go very quickly and they are very limited. If it is something you are even considering, then I'd call right away and see if it is even available.

And I agree with the other poster's response...Mama Melrose is much better. H&V is one of two places at Disney that you could not pay us to eat at again.

I was not able to get the F! Dinner Package at my 90 day mark for January 21, even though it is not a busy time. We wanted MM, but all three restaurants were booked. If you are considering the package, call to see if it is available. The decison might have been made for you already. although people do sometimes cancel.

Yes - you can sit anywhere you like, but there is a separate seating reserved for F! Package people. It will be reserved until a certain time before the show (45 minutes or so?). If there are still seats elsewhere and you'd like to sit there, you may.

What time do most people eat for the Fantasmic package? If Fantasmic is at 7pm, we're going to be eating at 4:45 if we have to be there 60-90 minutes early. Is it really worth it?:confused3

For the January showing (6:30 pm), F! Dinner Packages were 3:30-4:00 dining times.

We've just booked our Fantasmic package today for next May, we're eating again at H&V (we enjoyed this one last time we ate there, despite reading MANY negative reviews on the DIS)

Our showing is 9pm that evening, and we're booked in for our meal at 5pm. We figure we'll be able to eat, then have a stroll around the shops, or maybe hit one ride before heading for the queue to get our reserved seats.

You don't need to sit in the reserved area, if there's another place available which looks better, then you and your party can move there. The reserved seats just basically mean, that if you arrive early enough, then you're guaranteed a seat for the show.

I just got an e-mail from AKL IPO that they were able to book a MM F!DP for us on 1/21. We are eating at 3:05. Apparently, someone cancelled!

I agree! I have a Mama Melrose Fantasmic pkg at 4:40pm for a 9:000pm showing of Fantasmic on May 2nd. I had to call for several days to get it, because apparently Mama Melrose pkgs were not opened until several days after the 180 day mark. I called every day and every day was offered Hollywood & Vine or Brown Derby. Every morning the CMs would tell me that Mama Melrose was by far the most popular for the pkg and try to talk me into one of the other two. I had to tell them I didn't want to waste 2 dining credits on the Brown Derby and they couldn't pay me to eat at Hollywood & Vine again. I'd rather take my chances getting a seat without the pkg first.:rotfl: If we do the pkg it's at Mama Melrose.
