Fantasmic Dinner Package?????

We've done it. We ate at Hollywood and Vine for our package. It worked out well for us.

What does it include? What's the price range? I just saw it mentioned, but know nothing about it ... I e-mailed our TA, but of course I'm not patient enough to wait when I have all you experienced Disers on here! LOL!

It's free with the meal but you have to request it when you make your ADR. You show up for dinner at the restaurant at your assigned time. The wait staff should know you have the Fantasmic Dinner Pkg. but be sure to mention it anyway. The waiter will give you the appropriate number of passes. You will need to show up at Oscars(?) gas station 30 - 45 minutes before the start of the show. A cm will escort everyone through a back entrance to the amphitheater and show you where the designated seating is located. It's the section just to the right of center. There used to be a full description of the pkg on the wdwinfo website. You can see which restaurants participate. I think Hollywood and Vine was the least expensive one. It seems like there were 2 others but I can't remember which ones.

The other two restaurants that participate are Mama Melrose and Brown Derby. Brown Derby is the only one of the three that require 2TS credits if you're on the DDP. Otherwise there isn't any extra cost for the package.

The only downside I've heard about this package is that you have to eat dinner really early, like between 4:30-5pm. But I haven't personally done this yet, considering it for our upcoming trip.

Here is a link to a great description of it:

We did this pkg during our last visit. Since we went in Sept crowds were low. Truthfully, we could have gotten better seating in the general seating area than we got in the reserved area. I was unimpressed and wouldn't do it again - but it might be a better idea during busy times of the year.

I totally agree with this. We had to eat very early, then we had to wait quite a while outside the "special entrance," then we had to walk 15 miles to the preferred seating area, and then wait another long while for the theater to fill up and the show to start. (all the while the kids begging for every light-up toy the vendors were hawking :headache: )

I agree with Mrs. Pooh. If you are going during a less crowded time of year, skip it.

Couldn't agree more. We went the first week in Dec and for the first time DH and I did the Fantasmic Package dining at Brown Derby. While it was fun, the crowds were low enough we could have gotten into general seating in the last few minutes before Fantasmic started. We ended up waiting about 45 minutes in reserved seating as our server was adament that we arrive 45 minutes early to get in and get a good seat. While looking around the area DH and I both agreed that there probably are very few 'bad' seats in the house.

A crowded time of year, definitely try Fantasmic seating. In a lower crowd time you should be fine without it.
