What is it, I have heard some mention about it and was interested in it? How does it work, when is it offered, where can I get it?

A way to get poor, unsuspecting suckers to buy an overpriced meal at a bad restaurant just to have a reserved seat stuck off to the side in a giant amphitheater where people who didn't buy the package get better seats. :)

Ok, so the above is (maybe) a little harsh. It just isn't for us. Having done it twice, we will never do so again. At least not until DHS gets a better restaurant (not gonna watse 2TS on Brown Derby, which would be a 1TS in any other park).

If you go during a very busy time of year it may be worth the package. For slower times I'd just get in line early enough to get a spot and eat where and whenever you want.

We just did this and ate at Mama Melrose. I have to say I read all the reviews before hand and it was 50/50 - well it was by far our worst meal the entire time. My kids didn't even eat their noodles and butter since it tasted funny. I would not recommend eating there but who knows, maybe it was a bad night. We didn't stay at the park because one of the kids wasn't feeling well so not sure how the Fantasmic seating went.

We have the DP and use always use our TS credit for dinner so the night we are at DHS studios we use the Fantasmic Dinner Package. My family and I rather not do a lot of unnecessary standing in line so it's worth it to us. We didn't find anything wrong with the seats. We would have sat up near the back to exit quick after the show regardless and I could see fine where it was positioned. I personally think it's well worth doing the fantasmic package.

We use it every trip and always eat at Mama Melrose--we've always had good food and great service. We refuse to go to H&V ever again--worse food in all of Disney (except maybe the CBR food court in our opinion) and Brown Derby is definitely not worth two credits or the cost of the food without the dining plan. If you are not going at a crowded time and the menus do not appeal to you, eat somewhere else and just get in line. However, with them cutting back on the number of shows, I'm not sure how the lines are going to be.
