Fantasmic dinner package

Has anyone used the dinner package recently? I heard that they have really cut back on seating in the reserved section and that you enter the stadium with everyone else not using the back entrance like you used to. Is this correct? Is it still worth doing?

we were there a few months ago and used the entrance established for the fantasmic pkg. We were satisfied as usual with the entrance and the seating area.....when you leave you go thru the regular exit with the others......that is it........

We were there Monday. We went through the regular entrance, then handed our yellow card in to be seated in the reserved section. But it was also a slow day at the park & the stadium was not full.

Not sure if it is done differently on a high crowd level day since this was our first visit to DHS.

How big was the reserved section?

We were there in September and it was the same as it was last year. Same section, same entrance, and same process. The best bet is to call Disney and ask.

I had heard this rumor to. I would love to have it verified. I actually asked CM at the WDW dining yesterday and she said she didn't know anything about a change, so hopefully it is just a rumor. I had heard it was a new change made in October. Hopefully someone that traveled in October and used the package will see this thread and verify.

The word from those who have been there is that in recent days, while the reserved seating area is unchanged, the back entrance is not being used. There may be some construction going on backstage that prohibits use of that entrance by guests, it's not clear. But according to recent reports everyone is now using the same entrance. This is quite recent, within the last week or two.

There has been no official announcement from Disney.

Is there only a certain number of fantasmic dinner packages available on any given day, based on the number of seats in the reserved section? Or does Disney oversell these packages and then it's every man for himself as far as getting a seat in the reserved section? Is the seat guaranteed for all who have a dinner package ressie?

I just called WDW and checked on the price of the dinning package compared to just making a ressie and they are the same at least for Hollywood and vVne.

They only have so many packages available. However, they do recomend that you do not wait til the last second to try for seats as they do not gaurantee a seat as they fill up fast. I am sure that they over sell them due to folk not showing up. We have always gone 45 to 30 min before show time and had the whole section to pick from. The section is to the side but there has alway been plenty. Again I have done this in September and that may make a difference. I would bet that they are completing an upgrade that has made it unsafe to use the back enterence for a period of time and it will return once the walk way is safe again.

Anybody but me notice that they have changed the show?
