Here is our info.
The day we will be there, the park is rated a 3 by TP. We have seen Fantasmic about 4 years ago. Waited about 1 hour and had good seats. I have heard that their are really no BAD seats.
We have only eaten at Primetime 50's at DHS.
QUESTIONS:
Is this package really worth getting? Unless I am missing something, the main perk of this is having a seat saved for you without having to wait 1 hour in advance but you still have to wait 1/2 hour, right?
What is the $$ difference between getting dinner at park and just taking whatever seat is available?
Is it REALLY necesarry to get there so early?

Thanks for all your help!

We were there in late November and had the Fantasmic Dinner package. At the time, Fantasmic was showing at 6:30 and the only reservation I could get was at 3:45 which made for a very early dinner. That was the only draw back. We ate at Mama Melrose and both the meal and the service was good. I can't remember the cost but at the time I felt the price was worth it as we were a party of 10 and we were able to sit together for the show, made our way over to the special entrance about 20 minutes before the show and didn't have to stand or wait in any line to get in. I'd do it again.

Well I will let you know. 1 adult 2 kids May 3 dinner at hollywood & vine, show at 830 I'll tell you how it went.

We've done it and we're doing it again.

You do not have a seat saved for you. You're in a reserved section of the theatre. It's off to the right, but we thought the seats were good. For us, it's worth it because we eat at a TS place anyway, and my kids would not be happy to wait for an hour or more (we're going in the summer) to see a show. If I were going at a less crowded time, I might not do it, but again, if you want to eat at one of those restaurants anyway, it's not such a hard choice.

How early you need to arrive depends on the season, but I do know that when we saw it, it was a full house.

I have a question...DH wants to ride Rock n Roller Coaster and DD and myself do not care to. Can we stand in line for Fantasmic while he rides his ride and then come and meet us in line, or do they not allow that?
TIA

it really depends on the time of year you are going. If its the summer and peak tims , the wait can be 2 hours on the line. I'm sure others can give you stories about waiting on line.

I was there in 2004 and did the Fantasmic Dinner option in August 10th, It was the BEST thing I did. The line was to Animal Kingdom ( just kidding! ) but it was long. We also ate at Mamma Melrose and it was great. It was great to see the line and then go into a special entrance for Fantasmic Dinners Reservations only.
It was very stress free not needing to stand on line.

We did the dinner package last fall and would do it again in a heartbeat. We ate "early", but being able to just walk in closer to show time and knowing we'd have seats was a huge plus - and we ended up with great seats, just 4 rows from the front. We will definitely do it again.

Sorry if I'm highjacking the OP's post :goodvibes , but I was wondering what you folks think...I have a 4:45 ADR for Hollywood and Vine, with the Fantasmic Dinner Package. I don't really want to eat there, I've heard it's not the best, but we couldn't get MM and didn't want to use 2 credits for HBD....all that said, I really don't want to spend the whole evening walking around DHS since we'll have been there all day the day before.

I'm thinking of giving up my ADR and just joining the regular line waiting for Fantasmic so we can go to the park later....what do you all think? I'll be there the end of June:scared:

You can try calling and asking if anyone cancelled MM for the time slot you need. sometimes you can find that others like you cancel their ADR's

Fantasmic Package sounds interesting, could you please tell me how to get info about it. I have been looking for 1 extra special place to have dinner with 3 teens....dinner and then this is great option. I hope I'm not misunderstanding ....it can be dinner and a show? I'll also look in my info book for it but a link would be nice. :)
