Fantasmic Dinner Package--which restaurant?

My 11 year old son and I want to do this dinner package, but I don't know which restaurant would be a better choice for a child? I am debating between Mama Melrose's and Hollywood and Vine(don't want to use 2 TS credits on Brown Derby) Another question, if there is a buffet, can adults get things from the kids area of the buffet?

We've done all three. In order of preference I would say - Hollywood Brown Derby, Mama Melrose and Hollywood and Vine. Buffet was okay at H&V but the restaurant seemed exceptionally noisy. We have the HBD FDP booked but decided to pay out of pocket for that one since we're already doing a 2ts meal at CRT.

We've done H&V and MM and would recommend MM. Yes, adults can eat from the kids part of the buffet.

Last year we did MM. We loved it. There was plenty of food, almost too much and all of it was very good. Our kids were 3 and 6 at the time, and they ordered off the kids menu. The adult menu has great choices on it.

If we go back to WDW in November, I would do MM again. We usually do Chef Mickeys and CP for the characters, so I would not want to add another buffet. If Hollywood and Vine turns into Toy Story and it is part of FDP, I may consider it.

I happen to be a picky eater, and have eaten off the kids buffets areas many times.

Yes to MM. We are going with 19 yo very picky eater. When he was 17 all Disney restraunts let him order from kids menu. We were on the dinning plan and paid for adult portions, so they would bring him two dinners. All buffets let everyone have everything.
