Fantasmic dinner package or other...?

Should i do the fantasmic dinner package or eat at sci fi or prime time?

Is it really that hard to get a seat at the show? What are show times?

There is a lot of debate about whether it is worth it to get the Fantasmic package. I think a lot depends on the time of year you are going and how many shows there are that night.

We went in October with the package. We arrived about 40 minutes early, got good seats in the reserved section. There were still plenty of good seats in the general seating too though (although it did fill up by show time). Other times of year I have heard longer waits reported to get in and get a good seat.

I am not sure I'd do it again b/c I didn't like having to eat so early (only ressies for dinner at that time were before 5) and I think we could have gotten there about the same time and still gotten good gen admission seats. But other times of year this might not be true.

I would agree with jayhjay.

It also entails your desire to stand in a line or just walk right in and sit down. This is the major difference between the package and not having it. We also had mixed feelings about the package since you do eat early, but the restaurants also seem to be artifically busy (package surge) which impacts the overall service and experience.

The package seating is not in the center but on the right side when you face the stage.

I agree that it's often easy enough to find a good seat without the package, but the reason I like to do the package anyway is that it makes it so much easier to get out at the end of the show. It's a huge crush of people, but if you're in the reserved section, you'll be out before 90% of them, which means you'll be hitting the buses or trams before 90% of them, too. To me, this fact alone makes it worth buying the package.
