Fantasmic Dinner Package Changes

I am not sure why people like to reserve this package. I did it once and was upset with the seating arrangements. I could hardly see the stage and I kept looking over at all the empty seats that were a lot closer. I always go during peak season and I have never had any problems with getting a seat and it is always a better seat than the reserved ones. Now I sit looking over at the poor people who have to sit in the worst spot and think how happy I am that I know better now than to reserve that package.

So what is the trick for getting great seats without the package in peak season? How soon before the show do you go to reserve your seat? We'll be there July 2-8 and are looking for great tips :) Thanks :sunny:

I would have to say that the reason we are considering the package is because I HATE waiting for shows. Rides I can but for shows, not so much. Especially with 2 kids that tend to roam and run if bored. :sad2:

If we don't do the package, how early would we have to get seats? (We are going the week after Thanksgiving which I believe is generally low crowd, if that helps).

To each their own. I enjoy doing the package and have never felt like "the poor people who have to sit in the worst spot".

I disagree. Package seats are not the worst seats. There's left, center, right and SRO and I'd say SRO is the worst and then probaby the far left and far right and also right up front, but every seat can see the whole stage... I don't mind being to the right if it means I can get there 30 minutes before the show. To each their own.

If you use the package, can you pick seats in another section?
If you use the package you are not restricted to just the reserved FDP seats on the right. You can sit where ever there is an open spot.

then why does everyone post the seats are on the far right? and how far ahead would you show up if dont do package - going in Oct w/ 2 very little ones....thanks!

That's the area that is set aside for those that use the package.

Thanks rocketralp. Now if they would just open up the later dining times for the the last week of April, I'd be all set. :love2: :wizard:

Because they HOLD the seats on the right side for package people so they can come to the show up to 30 minutes before...usually by 30 minutes before those are all that are left: the right side and also maybe the left but the center which some people prefer and insist on will certainly be gone. Those are taken by those who wait in the regular line...they've probably waited an hour in line and an hour in their seats.

Did you try calling back at about 30 to 25 days? That's usually when more times are released.

Tuesday was the 30 day mark, but nothing yet.

Still hope though. For me later times opened up for both my August and October trip at exactly 25 days. I called everyday starting at 30 and it happened on day 25. Good luck!

Do you happen to remember if these times were there first thing in the morning? I can't remember from last spring.

Don't know if they went fast in the am but all I can say is I called in the am. Probably not at 7:00a but definitely by 9:00a.

I got a PS time for Mama Melrose w/ the package last year for 5:30, which was perfect. This year I'm trying the Brown Derby and the best time I could get was 3:30.

I called yesterday morning, hoping they had opened up more seats for 4/23, but they had not. But..... Last night, I called back, and they had opened up more.

I got Mama Melrose's at 5:30. Thank you, thank you, These boards are wonderful.

BTW- I cancelled a Brown Derby for 3:40, if anyone is interested in that. Maybe it's still open???

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I just called and was able to book a late seating for April 24 and 29. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Ugh! I called yesterday morning for April 29th and they still hadn't opened any up yet! I on the phone now!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I just got my P.S. for April 29th! Yea!

Today was our 30 day mark for 4/24 and we got a 6pm seating at BD!!! Much better than the 3:40 we got at the 90 day mark--thanks BeattyFamily!!! Never would have known to call if it weren't for you. And I'm so glad that we called cause they had our name wrong and I would have been upset to hear that they couldn't find us the day of the ps and then get charged a fee. My husband called this morning, around 8:30 and the CM he got was very rude, just told him that the name he gave did not match and there were no new times and hung up. So I called back around 9 and got a wonderful CM who said they had misspelled our last name with a D instead of a B, so she fixed that then gave me my choice of later times (I think she said 6:10 was the latest she had, but not totally sure). We picked 6 since the show is at 8:30 and we're now pretty quick eaters with a 1yo who does not like to stay in a highchair much longer than necessary! Oh, and the CM also looked up all of our PSs (and we have a lot!) to be sure our name was spelled correctly on each one. She found another one (for that same day, so I guess it was just the one CM who spelled it wrong) and corrected it for us. So we not only got a great FDP time, but also fixed our name!
