I just got off the phone with WDW dining and the CM said that they had opened up more times for the time frame iw ill be at disney! I got a PS for Mama melrose .
YEA!

I will be there in 21 Days

That's GREAT! Congrats. It seems to still be true even during peak times that they hold later times till about 25 days out!

We booked the package for our August 2004 trip.
Mama Melrose was great but the meals for kids (we had 3 with us) were very high. The night of our show the skys opened up and we could barely walk it was raining so hard. Disney only cancels Fantasmic if there is thunder and lightening. So guess what......we had the worst storm and the performances were cancelled. We were leaving the next day and never did get to see the show that night. We have seen it before but not with priority seating.
Disney wouldn't give us a rain check for the next visit so we really did spend more for dinnner than we wanted and no Fantasmic to show for it.
Next time we have the Fireworks cruise booked from the Grand Floridian.

:cool1: 33 Days to Disney

Wev did FDP last june at BD. We booked it 90 days @ 4:30. We tried again at 60 and at 30 but still no luck for later ressies. My advice for anyone in the air about ir...do it. It may be a little more money but we noticed the lines were huge (and that was early june when it was fairly slow) The meal was large so there is no need for lunch.. ahve a large breakfast and a light snack later in the evening. Because it is such a large meal..the price is not bad if you wind up having a snack in place of lunch!!

I did BD but thinking of Mama Melrose or H&V.. any sugestions or menu info? :daisy:

When I booked our Fantasmic Packing for 2/16 at Hollywood & Vine, the Reservationist indicated that we could NOT use one of our Dining Plan sit-down meals. Since we think it's a great plan, we booked it with a credit card.

We enjoyed our buffet, nothing fancy but something for everyone in our party of three to pick from. When the waitress presented us with the bill, I commented that we originally wanted to use the dining plan but were told they didn't accept it.

She replied that indeed they did with a $10 surcharge. I happily paid the extra $10 and considered it a bargin.

The show was even better than I remembered.

:teeth:
That's so cool!! So you just had the reg dining plan and not the premium package? That's awesome and totally worth the extra $10 IMHO. Congrats :flower:

Got FDP at BD this morning for June 2. CM told me that they are only booking 3:30 and 4:00 times right now. He said to call back in May to try for a later time. We're actually going to try to see the second showing of Fantasmic a few days earlier, so if we make that one, we'll be able to cancel the FDP within the 48 hour window. Or maybe, we'll just see it twice.

I also asked about FDP for second Fantasmic when two are showing, and he said that as far as he knew the FDP is just for the first showing.

We went ahead and booked a 3:30 seating at the Brown Derby and will treat it as a late lunch and just have something small later in the evening.

I've run into the same situation already reported: I called today (March 14) for June 12 Fantasmic Package/Brown Derby reservations. I got the 4pm PS reservation, last one of the day so far as they know now. I was told this was because park hours for June haven't been set yet. I was advised to call back late April/early May if I wish to attempt a later seating.

We also got a 4PM at H&V... we figured since it's an all you can eat buffet we'll try to do a big breakfast, early afternoon snack to hold us over, and then pig out at 4 ;) And hopefully won't be starving by the time the show itself starts!

When I booked our FDP at about 90 days out all I could get was 3:30 for BD, when I called two weeks ago for the same thing 3/29 they gave me a 4:50. They did open times for Easter break. I believe they may have also told me they only did the package for the first show. It ended up at about thirty days they opened the later seatings for the first show. Good Luck.

Does anyone know if you have to purchase food for everyone in your party if you are going to Mama Melrose for the Fanstasmic Dinner package? I figure with all the food they give you, my 2 younger kids (8 and 4) could share off my dh and dd (teenager) and my plates? I figured this would not be allowed at Hollywood and Vine since it is buffet. Anyone know? Thanks

You have to purchase a meal for everyone in the party. The 8 & 4 year olds would order from the children's menu. The price for them would be much less than the adults (10 and older).

Goiong w/ 2 toddlers, what time do they start running fantasmic? whats recommended for eating w/ two 2 yo's? thank you!!!!!!!!!

Anyone know if you can use the DDE card for a 20% discount at the Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic dinner pkg. I know it states it can be used at HV but not sure for the pkg.

Thanks

No you cannot use it for packages...and that is what they'd tell you if you call Disney. But there were a couple of DISers who asked and got the discount but you are officially not suppose to receive it. It won't hurt to ask.

i read on another post that you cant use dining package for FDP? why not? someone said a $10 fee added. it might still be worth it with a 1 1/2 yr old but dont think its really fair. any info on this appreciated.

also does sci fi or 50's prime time participate in the FDP?
thanks for help,

No you cannot use the dining package for Fantasmic although I, too, read that one person was lucky enough to be able to get just the $10 fee.

No Sci Fi and 50's do not participate. I wish they would though.
