Fantasmic dining pkg plan question

We are going Jan 1st, and plan on Fantasmic Jan 2nd. I am not sure if the dining package is included on the plan...still confused regarding the ins-and -outs. Do you think we can take a chance and just book dinner at H&V and then go to the show?

This is not included in the package. There is a fee for cancellation too. There is a big thread on it here

Just got back from a trip last week. We also had the free dining plan.
We called to make a ADR at MGM and the person mentioned the Fantasmic plan. They told us it would be a $20/person charge. Maybe if you use a 2 sets of meal credits it's free. I don't know, but since the show is free and all they do is reserve two sections of seats at one end I couldn't see spending $100 for the 5 of us, or even using a 2nd set of meal credits to see a free show that only requires getting there 30 minutes early for a seat.

Thanks, that's what I thought, but wanted to be sure. Maybe with the crowd level being a little lower, we will be okay.
