My DH and I are going to DL for our 27th anniversary next month and I want our trip to be a bit "extra" to celebrate.

We went to DL in 2013 with extended family and book the Fantasmic dessert party, apparently that is no longer offered. :( Do any of the dining packages offer *seating* during the show.

The dessert package was awesome with a great view. I was hoping to book the same thing this trip. All of the packages appear to have "admission to the reserved viewing area" only:

Fantasmic! Dining Packages

Enjoy dinner, then a reserved viewing area for the show!

Blue Bayou Restaurant

  • 3-course meal (starter, entree, dessert)
  • Admission to the reserved viewing area
  • Dinner: $72 adults/$29 for children 3-9 [plus tax & tip]
  • Lunch: $62 adults/$29 for children 3-9 [plus tax & tip]

River Belle Terrace

  • 3-course lunch or dinner (starter, entree, dessert)
  • Admission to the reserved viewing area
  • $45 adults/$25 for children 3-9 [plus tax & tip]
  • For 8pm seating, upgrade to a restaurant viewing location for an additional $15

Hungry Bear Restaurant

  • Pick up an On-The-Go meal
  • Admission to the reserved viewing area
  • $29.99 adults/$19.99 for children 3-9 [plus tax]
I hate sitting on the ground and would much prefer a seat. What is my best option?

For 8pm seating, upgrade to a restaurant viewing location for an additional $15

This River Belle Terrace upgrade option is the only one with an actual seat because you are actually sitting in the outdoor seating area of the restaurant and having your meal. This will be a more distant viewing location with some impeded views because there will be a walkway and many people between you and the show. The other options all have seating on the ground. The Blue Bayou meal includes a cushion that you can take to the show and sit on (you are stuck carrying around the cushions before and after or getting a locker for them).

Does it have to be for F!? The closest thing to what you're looking for would be the WOC Dessert Party: real chairs, waiter service, drinks and a dessert plate, reserved viewing section with a very good view of the show. The WOC Dessert Party is a very nice splurge and might work for you if you are fine with seeing a different show. The pp is correct that the RBT Premium Package is the only F! Dining Package that comes with chairs. Reviews of this package have been quite mixed: people love the chairs, but not everyone loves the view.

Like its said above, the River Belle Terrace upgrade is the only option if you are looking for an actual chair to sit in during the show. The Blue Bayou does offer a squishy cushion (like gardening style ones) which is nicer than sitting on the ground. The viewing area for River Belle isn't great but if having a chair is the priority, its a decent view. The Blue Bayou has the greatest view.

Thank you both for the feedback!

I have booked the WOC Dessert party for us on another evening, I was hoping for the same thing for F!.

I will do some research on the view for the RBT.

If you go the Bayou route, be sure to try to book for the 1st F! showing as they may collapse the three sections (Bayou, RBT, Hungry Bear) into one for the 2nd show, sort of negating your view advantage (they let the Bayou patrons into the section first, so you can go right up to the fence line).

Exactly what we have done. I researched the BB v RBT v HB and went with the BB for the viewing location and compromised on the seating with the cushion rather that the seats with a not so good view. We have also booked the dessert package for WOC.

We were there last Friday for the Fantasmic early show. We did the Hungry Bear option, took a towel from our hotel in my backpack to sit on. We were literally in the center of the viewing area, sitting next to the people that chose the BB option. We had a perfect view. We have done the BB package before, but my daughter won't eat anything on the menu. With the HB package, she was able to get a hamburger, french fries and a coke.

If you have the funds and the time, 21 Royal might be available for $15,000. If you find 10 other people to split the cost with, it's only $1250.

We did the RBT upgrade a few weeks ago and I’m not sure I would do it again.

The food was terrible. By far the worst meal of the trip. And the constant flow of people walking along the path in front of us was maddeningly distracting. And many shoulder kids in the crowd also was a big issue. A lot of them were in the back row of the section, so I guess they didn’t realize there were people behind them. (That will probably be the only time I ever defend shoulder kids...)

It was nice having a real seat though, but probably not $165 nice.

When we do the HB package, we bring our BB cushions, keep them in a locker until needed, then sit inches from the BB crowd, on BB cushions, for a much lower price!

That is a fabulous view, but still no chairs! :rotfl2:

$15,000 is crazy. Does it come with a private guide for the day? I need to google this... Just dinner. LOL

TY for the recommendation, but this is toooo extra for us!

haha....it’s pretty much designed for folks who have the funds but don’t have the Club 33 membership. No private tour guide, that’s $2400 + admission - but that gives you automatic front of line access to all rides + prime parade/entertainment/fireworks seating.

because of how long the meal is, I would do private guide on one day and then 21 Royal on the second day (unless you are limited to one day).

I remember visiting this space in the early aughts before it was converted to the Disney Dream Suite (and later 21 Royal) and I remember it being very intimate and quiet.
$1250 is reasonable given it’s a 7-course meal with wine...that’s easily a $400 meal outside the park at a Michelin started restaurant. You figure a bottle of water goes from $1 to $4.50, so the above isn’t so outrageous.

(Maybe I’m just justifying making the reservation, lol)

Hey, if you have the expendable cash and want to do, then do! You will have to pop back in and give us a review!
