The Fantasmic Dining Package no longer includes an appetizer at Mama Melrose or Brown Derby?

The way I am counting then, is that it will cost my family of four at Mama Melrose about $30-$40 for Fantasmic seats that is subject to weather...so may or may not be useful! There is nothing in the entree/dessert/non-alcoholis drink combination that will equal the $172ish price tag to make that a worthwhile meal!

Did they really remove the appetizer from the package or is it an oversight where i was looking?

The Fantasmic dining package on Disney's website lists an entree, dessert, and nonalcoholic beverage. This started January 1 2018, you're not imagining that it used to include an appetizer.

I don't believe the dining packages is necessary. The theater is huge and we never had a problem getting in - even during crowded times.

This was my experience as well. We booked a package for Hollywood Brown Derby because it was our anniversary and we really wanted to have a nice meal to celebrate and had scheduled that as our HS day. We were told to arrive at Fantasmic 45 minutes prior to the show (I know the "official" language says 25 minutes but our server warned us otherwise, and we were about 6-7 rows from the last row in the section at that point).

Ok...thought I was seeing things...Ya, hardly worth doing now.

We have done it MANY times. I suppose it isn't necessary but it sure does make life easier if you're planning to eat anyway. We've been there when the line is back past the corner to get in. Ya, I'm not wasting my time standing in line when I'm eating anyway. And while there are no bad seats, there are "better" seats. So for us, it has always worked. I had booked it for our throw together, last minute trip over NY for 4 days thinking we'd eat and then see our favorite night time show but now I think I will remove the Fantasmic part and either wing it (they'll probably open a second show that night anyway) or go for a FP. Although we are thinking we might want to see the Holiday show instead...decisions, decisions!
