We are a family of six and definitely want to see Fantasmic while in HS. My question is, does the Fantasmic Dining Package offer much better seats, waiting, etc. than just trying to get into Fantasmic without it?

The only reason we are hesitating on the dining package is that we had our hearts set on eating at the '50s Prime Time Cafe for HS day. The only other thing I could think of is eating at '50s for lunch and one of the Fantasmic dining plan restaurants for dinner, but that seems like too much food. Opinions, please.

Thanks!

It gets you the best seats (IMO), right in the centre so you have a straight on view of the show. You have to show up at least 30 minutes before the show, if I remember correctly.

That said, it is a huge theatre, and if you have your hearts set on 50s, you can see Fantasmic easily without the dinner package. If there are 2 showings of Fantasmic, try to watch the later one as the dinner package is only for the 1st show (so the area won't be reserved for that) and the 2nd one tends to be less crowded.

Or, you can get Fp+ for it by using your 4th or 5th, etc. Fp+ pick. Here is how they load the amphitheater with Dining in the very center and all guests entering an hour before showtime:

- Fp+ enter on the left side of the pathway and sit in the Fp+ area - all sections to the left of dining are filled one by one with CMs overseeing this process.

- Standby guests enter on the right side of the pathway and veer to the right entrance. Each section to the right of Dining is filled one by one until the complete standby area is filled.

- Once standby is filled, all waiting standby guests are held in the entrance pathway until 5 minutes before showtime. At that time, they are allowed to fill in the Fp+ area.

Is the Fp+ good seating area? Last year when we went to WDW, it was three FPs per day. Has it changed? I am not even aware of what is going on with FP now! I guess I need to figure it out before our trip in November. How early do you have to arrive with FP+?

I am very curious about this. I was under the impression that the Fantasmic dining seats were off to the right. We booked Mama Melrose's for a late lunch Fantasmic package because I am traveling with a friend that has a club foot and really can't stand for an hour or so to get a seat. If the dining package gets us to the center that would be great. Do we use the same entrance?

They are now in the center. Haven't done the package but I was at Fantasmic in December and that is where the signs for the package seating were.

With Fp+ in effect, Dining was moved to the center sections to make it better than Fp+ so guests will still purchase the package.

But, if you enter 45 minutes or so before Fant with Fp+, you'll be seated in the most central sections of the Fp+ area. Entering as Standby, you'd have to get in an hour before show or even be in line before the gates open to get the most central sections of the Standby area.

We too are 6 and spending $300 to get good seats wasn't worth the cost so we plan to use it as our 4th fastpass if available.

Where is the dining package entrance? Thanks in advance:confused3

Some DISers have said it's the same street level entrance as Fp+/Standby. Once you reach the top of the amphitheater, CMs and Managers form a human barricade to ensure only Diners sit in the Dining Package area. Sorry, not much help but I use Fp+ for Fant and never noticed or looked for Dining entrance.
