is this worth it?? I am having trouble nailing down a price on the website when I try to make a reservation...is it $60 a person, or the cost of the meal at Hollywood & Vine (where they had a reservation available - the regular dinner buffet appeared to be 15-35.99 a person)... Trying to decide what is "worth doing" on first trip w/ dh and 5yo ds and what we can leave out...

It's not 60 per person. It about 32 per adult and 15.99 for kids last sept.. I think it worth having a fanstamic dinner package.. it save about 2 hours of standing in line and getting a good spot.. you can try booking at Mama's Melrose for Fanstamic Dinner.

Hollywood Brown Derby can be near $60 for the package. We did Mama melrose this yearand it was about $33 for adults.

We entered the area about 35 minutes before the start time and most of the non package seats were filled

The dinner package is a prix fixe meal. You can order 1 app, 1 entree & 1 dessert from the menu, and regardless of what the a la carte price is, you pay the fixed price. Even if you don't want one of the courses.

This link will show you the cost of the F. package according to the restaurant for both adults and children:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/fantasmic.htm

As you see, these are fixed prices for the PACKAGE, and are not the same as you would pay for a regular meal. .

ETA: There is a seasonal variation in the pricing. You can check the WDW site for the dates where the higher prices are in effect.

When we went in May with my daughter and her friend, we wanted to make it easy to access Fantasmic without standing in a long line. We went to Hollywood and Vine, and was able to walk straight into the theatre and sit down.

It was worth it. However, next time I would choose Mama Melrose.
