We have decided this next trip, March 2016, we will attempt to watch Fantasmic and since we have never had interest in it before we are pretty clueless to it all.

As I understand it there currently isn't any show times so we just booked a regular Brown Derby dinner and will convert it later when the show is released. What I don't fully understand is it sort of sounds like Fantasmic doesn't always show daily, is this correct? I saw a calendar for March of 2015 and it showed a couple times during the week.

So any Fantasmic pros want to give me the scoop on this show?

thx EJ

No one knows yet and it's been the source of rumor mongering here. :) There's word that construction on Star Wars land starts in 2016 but as far as anyone knows that should only affect the Streets of America part of the park (on the other side of Fantasmic).

The consensus is that Disney just hasn't gotten around to scheduling it yet and it should be out with the revised January schedule (due sometime this week)

It's also possible they might put it on hiatus for the duration of construction or be shutting it down altogether.

You will not be able to convert a regular HBD reservation to the Fantasmic Dining Package. You will need to go the the Fantasmic Dining Package page and book the reservation through that page and cancel your regular HBD reservation. Or you can make the res over the phone. Times for the Package are typically lunch through early dinner hours with the latest times booking up first so if you want dinner, book as soon as the package becomes available.

While that is NORMALLY true, we have a unique situation right now.

What is the unique situation? I know they haven't released the dates or times for Fantasmic past January, but i wasn't aware that anything else in the booking procedure has changed so i was just pointing out that in the past you could not convert a regular dinner reservation to the dining package.

I have read a report that they are going to allow the changeover to F! DP from std. ADR.
The reason is that by the time the F! schedule gets posted,
there won't be any ADRs left.

WILL they make good on this?
I have no way of knowing.

It will be interesting to see how that will work for those who have a regular reservation that conflicts with the Fantasmic showtime.

They could cancel it.

If my intention is to see Fantasmic! with a Dining Pkg., I'd know to book my meal well before dark.
No F! ever begins before dark.

True, but unfortunately there are parties who want to book dinner around 6:00 or later thinking the package is also good for the later show on nights when F! is performed twice. As you said, we'll see what Disney does and hopefully not too many people will be disappointed if they are unable to book the dining package. Perhaps they are already holding back some reservations at each restaurant.

We currently have a 5:30 ADR. If it goes down where we can use this ADR is it a good time?

If Fantasmic! runs at 7PM (likely, in Feb.), that may be tight, but OK.
You want to get into the F! theater by at least 30 minutes before show-time, even with the DP.

If Fantasmic! runs at 8 or 8:30PM (likely, in March), you'll be A-OK.
