I asked this on another thread about F! but no one answered so here I am asking again like an eeeediot. :sad1: But I was thinking about making a box (or maybe just a bag) full of goodies for DBF and I for when we watch F! on our next trip. I can't convince DBF (or myself) to spend $120 on a box of desserts and a good spot to watch Fantasmic so I was thinking while DBF or I wait for the 11:30 show the other can run and get the box at the hotel. I was just wondering if anyone had any good ideas (mine all suck!) about what to put inside and what container I should use, and most importantly, will DL let us bring something like that inside? TIA for anyone who's got some fine idears. ;)

16 more days until my trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

I haven't a clue as to whether DL will let you bring that in or not, but hey, it's a really good idea! Nor can I think of any great ideas, but I would say, just pick all of your favourite treats! Our ideas may not be treats to you and your BF. ;)

I did have to comment because our trip will be the exact same dates as yours, except we come home on the 27th. YIPPEE!!!

Rather than dealing with having to make up boxes, transport them to Disney, then worry about whether they'll let you in the park with the goodies (though I've never seen them say no to food, except glass, hard sided coolers, etc)....why not just stop at your favorite snack cart or maybe the ice cream parlors on Main Street and grab a sweet treat. Even the high prices would be worth it not to have to leave and come back....and would definitely be a lot less than $120, lol.

But, if you really want to do it up at home and bring it along....we love to make rice crispy treats shaped like Mickey (we use a huge cookie cutter we got ages ago, but you could also just shape them by hand). Dip the ears in melted chocolate for extra yummy.

Or....forget the Disney themeing and just bring along your favorite indulgences. I'd put them in a paper sack for ease of carrying, but if you wanted to get fancy to give it more "party" mood, then get one of those cookie tins (Christmas stuff is popping up in stores around here, so you probably can find one with plain colors and decorate it with Disney stickers). The main problem I see is that leaves you either having to ditch the container or carry it around all night....hence why I'd go for a paper sack with stickers, lol.

Hmmmmm, now I have a hankering for a Mickey ice cream......shessh, and I got almost 3 months to wait.

Yes you can bring them in, you can bring in soft sided coolers and lunch bags.

You could also store them in a lockey near the front of the park, a small one is $7 I believe.

Maybe cheese and crackers. Candy bars/M&Ms, even a pb+j sandwhich. Probably something to drink too, a bottle of soda or water.

are you putting treat and goodies from DL or d=any disney theme or something?

I was thinking both, but have no idea of anything Disney themed I can get before we take off here. I just thought of a good idea to maybe just go over to Pooh's Corner (if that's what it's called) to add a Tigger Tail to the snacks to make it complete! Other than that I guess I could have meat and cheese with crackers and grapes and chocolate covered strawberries! I think that's what I saw included in the box, and I won't be paying a ton!

Yayy! I can't wait to go on our trip! Hopefully the crowds aren't too bad! I know everyone's different, but some people are wayyy more creative than me! :rotfl: I will definitely take pictures whenever I put it all together!

Great ideas! I think one of the tins would be a great idea. I've just always wanted one of the boxes, I'll just make my own and it can be just as cute! Plus I'm kind of thinking about surprising DBF with the treats, I mean he'll know about it but he won't know what's inside! So I need everything to look good! :lmao: Carrying the tin around won't be too bad because after the show we will probably be leaving because it's going to be the last show! And rice crispy treats would be great! They are probably DBF's favorite. Something that may be cute is molding them into little bite sized pieces and wrapping them in plastic wrap! That will be fun!!

Yeah! Maybe I will bring those little tiny cans of soda! Haha and that's awesome that I can bring them in! :yay:

Thanks for the replies! :goodvibes

Aww, that will be cute too! I can just bring the snacks and then just put everything together after I got that! It doesn't really matter if I spend even $20 on the thing haha it will be worth having when DBF is happy to have his favorite treats after a long day at DL! I am so excited. We have never seen Fantasmic! before so this is going to be a fun thing for us and I want it to be special. :lovestruc

Ok, just found this post and thought of your question....if you're not wanting to put it all together at home, bring your prettied up box, have BF save seats and you run over to the Pooh Corner shop and grab several of these yummies to share!

Hmm.... after seeing those pictures like that it does sound like it would be a good idea. The chocolate covered strawberries though, seriously? Friggin 4 bucks! Wowwww. But I guess the strawberry skewer is 8 bucks and you get three, so maybe that would be ok haha. I guess I will budget a lot more if I do that, but even so when I think about how much I'm saving and doing pretty much the same thing, it will be ok to splurge on that! I am getting a TON more hours in at work now so I'll be fine! :rotfl: Thanks for showing me that post! I love reading Trip Reports with fun pictures. :goodvibes

Yayy! Too bad I've heard the soundtrack over a hundred times so the music or the story won't be a surprise to me! :rotfl:

dont worry i listen to it wayyyyy too many times, i even listen to it power walking at the gym!:rotfl: i always think i look like a fool cuz i cant help but walk to the beat of the main theme! :rotfl:

I listen to the sound track more than I'd like to admit. SPECIALLY when I'm in my truck going to school or work. It makes a very annoying drive a little more enjoyable! :lmao: DBF and I will listen to Indy and go driving around in the dirt or an empty parking lot and THAT is really funny and we look crazy!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: man that actually sounds like soooo much fun!!! im definitely going to have to try that, cuz i know when i ride indy i always act all dramatic like im really on an off roading adventure! :rotfl:

I pay for the Fantasmic dessert thing for the CHAIR..not so much the box....You should be able to kind of easily replicate this..just bring some little wrapped cheeses and crackers in a cute Disney lunch box (on sale right now at Disneystore.com for like $5.00, then buy some Disney treats at the bakery and voila! but really..it's the chair.

nunzia, you are so right! It's not the food, it's the chair and having the spot saved for us that makes it worth the money.

But...we have kids that were not going to make it until the later show. If it was just me and dh, we would surely just go to the second show and get fine spots to sit. I saw people doing it. They just waited in the back of New Orleans Sq. and when the first show let out, they just walked right in and took up the great spots that people saved for hours for the first show. That is the way to go if you don't have kids that will fall asleep.

By the way, the thing that everyone ate out of the dessert box was the cheese and crackers and the grapes. Some of us ate a few of the sweets but each of us really enjoyed the cheese/crackers/fruit. The sweets were not all that great....Remember too the show is not that long so if you do bring treats, you don't need that many.

Lol, it is unlike anything you have ever experienced, I assure you. It's really fun hahaha just wear your seatbelt! :lmao:

Yeah I guess so haha, but that is still sooo much money when you can see WOC for about $15 a person haha. I don't plan on seeing that for a while though! Aww a lunch box would be cute too! I actually need one so it would be used afterward too. :thumbsup2

That's great, we almost always stay until closing so it won't be a problem to us! Yeah I will like not having things I'm not going to eat because I am choosing my own things to go in my box, so that will be great. I think DBF is going to be happy (and definitely hungry) for whatever I bring him so it's going to be fun! I can't waitttttt. :yay:

15 days! :hyper:

I would just put together a box while at the parks. Those chocolate covered strawberries at Pooh Corner might be $4 each but they are sooooooooooo worth it!! Pair it with a couple of cookies, maybe a cupcake, a Tigger & Cheshire Tail and you're golden. :) Super good and so much less then a F! dessert seating. :) You'll want to get the stuff close to your sit down time so it doesn't get messed up being carried around in your tin but I think that's a GREAT idea. :)

I made my box! :) I am pretty proud of how it turned out. I put two crustables sandwiches, vanilla yogurt covered raisins, bite sized rice krispy treats, jolly ranchers for some color, and mickey shaped cheese and meat on crackers. DBF will probably appreciate those the most, because just the other day he said cheese and crackers are his favorite snack. :) I also got two drinks that I'm going to bring with (they don't fit in the box). I duct taped the outside and part of the inside with tie-dye tape and put black felt on the bottom. And I added some Tink stickers as well. It's cute! I am also going to go to Pooh Corner while DBF waits to get our seats and get one or two treats there to finish it off. DBF knows all about this but doesn't know what I got and he says he is excited to see what I did. Ok, here's a pic!
