Fantasmic Balcony no more

I do not know if this is old news, so excuse this post if it is. I just got off of the phone with the Disneyland Vacation Planners, and they told me last night was the last night for the balcony.

I had heard in the past that they had closed it for a short amount of time, but then reopened it in June. Now I am hearing that the gallery will be closed for refurbishment on August 1 (today) and that they will redo that whole area and are done permanently with the Fantasmic balcony seating.

I assume that this is correct? Has anyone else been able to book the balcony for August or September??

Yes, this news is correct and it has been out for some time.

They are closing the Gallery (perhaps reopening it elsewhere), and turning the area up there into a suite to be a Dream prize for the YOMD Part Deux.

Perhaps after the YOMD ends, they will begin to offer the seating up there again, but we won't know for another year at least.

So glad you posted this. I was unaware of that. I decided I won't do the Fantasmic show after all. Now the seating will be even more limited, so the chances of us getting tickets are slim.

I was kind of figuring the Mickey's Halloween Treats will be enough, along w/ the park of course. My 5-year old might be afraid of the light show anyway. Thanks for the update!

I just found this little tidbit on Mouseplanet:

The closure of the Disney Gallery has been delayed by one week. The Gallery is now scheduled to close on August 7 instead of July 31. The premium balcony seating for Fantasmic! is currently scheduled to continued through August 5, though some Gallery Cast Members feel that there might be another extention. The reserved seating section along the Rivers of America is being expanded to accomodate additional guests once the balcony closes for good.
