We are going to be at MGM April 1 and we want to see Fantasmic at 7:30. We are a family of 5 and my dh and ds want to do RocNRoller Coaster. Is it possible to save seats in Fantasmic? I was thinking they could do that ride while I wait in Fantasmic with my 2 girls. Would the CM let them in the theatre if the show was almost starting if they said we were saving seats? we have walkie talkies can we use them there or would it be impossible to find us?

My second question is how long do we need to stake out a spot for the Stars N Motor Cars Parade? a half hour? an hour?

Thank you

I personally would not cut it any closer than 15 minutes before show time.

If you are going to save seats, I would recommend saving at the end of the row, instead of the middle, so that DH and DS can get in easily. Also, if you are only saving 2 seats, I think that would be OK.

I think people get offended if one person is saving 20 -25 seats  .

By the way, if you want to do it this way, you might want DH and DS to get FastPasses for R n Rollercoaster for that time. Otherwise, by then the standby wait is often up to 2 hours.

Thank you Deb.

Does anyone know how long we need to wait to see the MGM parade?

You could but I personally don't recommend it. The stadium is huge so without walkie talkes and even with them it may be hard to find each other. The show often fills to capacity 2 hours before the show so if you decide to try it don't cut it too close. Once the stadium fills no one will be allowed in even if you have seats saved for them.

Another option would be to get FP's for TOT and RnRC before the parade, watch the parade and return to ride before fantasmic. You could also take the younger ones to VOTLM or Playhouse Disney while dh and dd ride the big rides.

As far as waiting for the parade, I haven't been in April but I think 30 minutes maybe a bit more is enough time. If you want to be on the main street maybe more. We just keep an eye on the crowd and if the street starts to fill up we grab our spot.

I wouldn't recommend leaving once getting seats either... not only will you constantly be hanging onto dear life for their seats (LOL) but the stadium is really really big and hard to find someone. Its really not worth it. Grab a snack and such and just enjoy the down time to watch people and eat =) I think its too much hassle to go ride something...

As far as the parade, I dont really know... I dont care for that parade, I stopped and watched 2 minutes of it when it went by when I was there last, and I dont think it draws the people like the ones in the other parks. I literally walked right up when i saw it going by and saw part of it. Just keep your eye on the crowds and when people start to congregate, you might want to stake a spot =)

Have a great time!

Hard to save seats. You stand in line practically forever. Plus when you get there, it is a mad dash for seats and sometimes they puch you in real tight. I would try to get in as much as possible before Fantasmic.

I would find seats for the parade about 45 min. before. That is what we have done.
