We will be at HS this coming Saturday and have the Fantasmic dining package. Is there any possibility to see both Fantasmic and the Star Wars fireworks show? Is there any strategy that can we use to get to both?
From what I've read, you have to get to your SW fireworks spot about an hour early so I'm not really hopeful, but if anyone can figure out a way, it will be someone here on the Dis.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions- we would really love to see both.

On most days, I believe they schedule the shows so that you can only view one or the other.

It appears that on Saturday, Fantasmic is at 8:30 and Star Wars is at 9:00.

If Fantasmic is first then sit or stand in the back to get out quickly. For Star Wars there is a marked off (on the ground) boundary for standing areas. About 15-20 minutes before show time we walked up close on one side and stepped into a clear spot and kept working our way toward the center as people moved or left the area being careful not block anyone's view (we're both 6' tall). It was not a perfect view but it worked.

It sounds like it may potentially be do-able, but you may end up not enjoying either one as well as if you committed to one. If you are worried about rushing out of Fantasmic you won't enjoy the show, and then you may end up not able to see the fireworks so you wouldn't enjoy that as much either. It is up to you and your vacation style, just something to consider

I agree. Last November we went 2 different nights. Best way if you have the time.

I did both last month but that was when F! ran 7:00-7:30 and SW started at 7:45.
That 15 minutes was enough time to get a spot on Hollywood Blvd for the fireworks.

With the current schedule of F! starting 30 minutes before SW, you would have to leave F! early to see all of SW or stay for all of F! and see only a portion of the fireworks show.

they now block off getting into the middle with ropes about 5 minutes before the fireworks start, even if there is a ton of room. You need to leave fantasmic early to do this now.

Do we know yet if the SW fireworks will run in November (thanksgiving week)? I see that last year, they suspended them for the Jingle Bell Jingle Bam show. Have not seen what is expected this year.

no one knows but I expect them to run it just because of the release of Episode XIII in December

Is the Star Wars show a good experience? We are only going to be at that park one day and my son loves SW. If you had to choose one, SW or Fantasmic, which one would you choose? Any reason why? Thanks so much.

I'd choose SW, just because I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and I find Fantasmic boring. :)

We did it this past Friday night. We hadn't planned on being in the parks at all so had no plan. F! was at 8:30, fireworks at 9. We sat on the end of a side section for F!, and left when the riverboat started going. We didn't rush, just walked over to the street. We easily found a spot to stand in the dead center of the street, near the "intersection". There were no ropes in sight. It was super easy.

Honestly, we didn't enjoy the fireworks. We're both HUGE SW fans, and thought it was very boring, and that it barely qualifies as a fireworks show at all. It was disappointing and we won't be wasting any time on that show again.

Well we ended up doing F!, and if I went back again I would choose differently. F! was not as exciting as when I saw it 15 years ago, it Was actually kind of boring. There used to be so many more lasers and fireworks, it just didn't live up to my memories. So if I had to do it all over again, I would choose SW for sure.

1. There used to be so many more lasers and fireworks,
2. it just didn't live up to my memories. So if I had to do it all over again, I would choose SW for sure.

1. The show has not changed.
(But, it is certainly possible that they ran a "reduced effects" version of the show for some reason on your night.)
2. I can believe that to be true.
